The SRAM Descendant crankset

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

The SRAM Descendant crankset is light and stiff. I found it to be one of my top choice AM/endure. It’s simply a fantastic crankset for any SRAM 1x12 drive train! Sram has specifically designed a X-Sync chainring that keeps the chain really snug, allowing you to leave your chain keeper in the garage. I simply love this chain ring.

Great product, unbeatable price.

These cranks are unbeatable if you are looking for something to beat up!
These could be most aptly be described as the Eagle XO1's burlier brother.
It's a bit heavier but the direct mount chainring is identical.
To my understanding, the only difference is that these are solid carbon arms which makes them tougher vs. the XO1s which have a foam core with a carbon chassis making them lighter.
I'm 100% happy with the product and 110% happier with the price.

Seems cool so far

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Put these things on my rowdy steel hardtail. so... not too worried about weight. So sure! A carbon crank that can take a beating.

I upgraded to XX1 eagle recently. It was a little more than I wanted to budget on an upgrade so I compromised on the crank. At this point it doesn't feel like a compromise. This crank looks really good installed with the rest of the eagle set, and is sub-100 grams heavier than the XX1 version. Very happy with this crank and the 12 speed setup.
