500 Aero Brake Levers

The SRAM 500TT aero brake levers are red anodized aluminum alloy instead of the carbon levers SRAM rolled out when they unveiled Red. Just like the carbon version, the 500TT delivers precise and real stopping power thanks to its positive action return spring. But instead of 99g, these levers tip the scales at 115g, and save you some dough.

  • Red or black hard anodized finish adds durability
  • Aero design for reduced wind resistance
  • Full aluminum construction for lightweight durability

These are compatible w/ Shimano brakes I'm assuming? The SRAM and Shimano are interchangeable? Thanks! -Joel

Nice Brake Lever

I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Bought a TT bike with Vision super aero levers that felt like trying to use knife blades to stop with way to narrow to put good stopping pressure down.picked these up and I'm very happy with the updated build.

Good feel

I've put it through the wringer

I like these TT levers because they give you a solid handle unlike some super aero levers that feel like they could cut your hand!

TT brake with sensible design

I've put it through the wringer

Brakes are not the first equipment choice that comes to mind when setting up a TT bike, but as with most things made by SRAM, the tt 500's are worth considering. I rode these for about 6 months or so, and I liked that the routing was internal (to be run directly into the bullhorn). One of my favorite features is that this brake is designed to be used with a standard road brake cable rather than the hockey puck MTB style brake cable used on other brands that can be a pain to install. The lever was rather narrow, and didn't feel fantastic in the hands, but the action was quick and a small spring effectively kept the lever in check.
