Worn out within 4 months of wearing

Loved these socks for the first month of riding (warm and comfortable and great orange stripe design for visibility). However they've already developed large wear patches (can see my foot) on the heel and balls of feet from just normal amount walking off the bike. Bought these with a promo discount hoping I'd find warm wool socks to cycle in but can't imagine buying them again since they're already so worn out after maybe 4 months of wear.
