Item # SPP001MClip In and Out Like a Champ.
If you notice that clipping in and out of your Speedplay pedals isn't quite as smooth or as easy as it used to be, it's probably time for some new cleats. The X-Series pedals are known for their knee-saving float and new cleats ensure that the pedals operate as they were intended. Like all Speedplay cleats, these come with one snap-shim per pedal, two three-bolt baseplates, two four-bolt spring kits, steel screws, and an alloy exterior plate that helps to protect the cleat while walking. Speedplay recommends replacing cleats every 3000-5000 miles. X-Series cleats are only to be used with X-Series pedals and are not compatible with Zero or Light Action series pedals.
Please Note: Due to manufacturer restrictions, we are unable to ship Speedplay products outside the United States.
- Speedplay X-Series cleats restore that crisp clip in and out
- Contains all hardware needed for fresh install
- Replace cleats every 3,000- to 5,000 miles

What size speed play clear do I need?
Hi DJ,
Cleats only come in one size but you need the right type to pair with your pedal. By the image your pedals look to be the Speedplay Zero Chromoly pedals (not the X1 pedals), can you confirm?
I have the original Speedplay X (I think they were labelled X1) series chromoly pedals. Will these cleats fit them? They appear as though they will but I just wanted to check. Thanks!
Jim
Yes, these fit the X-series pedals: X1 (Ti), X2 (Stainless), and X5 (Chromoly)
Are these SPD or SPD-SL?
Hey Emily!
These aren't actually part of the SPD system. Speedplay is it's own type of pedal. These cleats will adapt to a 3 bolt shoe that would normally take an SPD-SL pedal. For reference, SPD is the mountain bike system, and SPD-SL is the road system. Be sure to reach out to me at jdraper@backcountry.com if you have any more questions!
