Torch 3.0 Cycling Shoe
Compared to all other Torch shoes from Specialized, the Torch 3.0 Road Shoe is the stiffest, most innovative in the bunch. Suitable for intermediate- to advanced-cycling, the Torch 3.0 utilizes a carbon sole that's constructed for directional rigidity and outstanding power transfer. It also features a scientifically-tested Body Geometry design that provides proper hip-to-foot alignment for a boost in power, increased efficiency, and reduced chance of injury. Specialized bonded the mesh upper to tough TPU for seamless ventilation, and the rear heal is all synthetic leather for a snugger fit than previous iterations of the Torch. The Torch 3.0's also updated with dual Boa dials for a quicker fit.- Premier Torch road shoe from Specialized for cycling
- Body Geometry aligns hip, knee, and foot for a boost in power
- Carbon sole in a torsion box construction for stiff rigidity
- Body Geometry aligns hip, knee, and foot for a boost of power
- Dual Boa dials provide on-the-fly micro-adjustments
- Mesh upper bonded to tough TPU and synthetic leather for smoothness
- 3-bolt cleat compatibility

Good looking shoes, very comfortable with roomy toe box, my issue is with the materials, the front end material is not smooth and it can get dirty easily. I got the white ones and its very hard to clean, most times when it gets dirty, the stains wont come off at all. The BOA system is not automatic when released, the cord needs to be unloose manually as well. I feel that the construction is not good enough for $225, i would recommend the shimano RC7 instead.

Very Small and Narrow
- Familiarity:
- I returned this product before using it
- Fit:
- Runs small
I have put 1000s of miles on 2 pairs of Specialized tri shoes without any issues. These shoes ran small and were very narrow. I had them on my feet for about 5 minutes and could feel where I was going to get hot spots. Very disappointing.

The first thing I noticed was the Boa wires need to be unhooked to get the shoe on. The wire unspools from one side of the dial only. The dial does not quick release. This is inferior in every way to the Boa dials I've seen on cheaper/same price shoes. I ride with people who rush to leave every gas station we stop at on 125-250 mile rides. I would definitely be the uncool kid if I slow down the K-hounds trying to get my shoes on. The tongue on the shoe also tended to flop out of place every time I took them off or put them on. Horribly tedious things these shoes. There was also a hot point near the toe box for me. Too narrow up there, would have been very painful on 10-20 hour rides. I tried it on on carpet, but sent it back. Hopefully I get my full refund. The Boa dials are different than the ones pictured on the black shoe.

What an elitist list of complaints you have. "I ride with people who won't wait for me to put my shoes on". Sounds like you need to find better friends. I can understand legitimate concerns that might affect people like a small toebox, but the minor inconvenience of having to turn a dial a few times while your riding buddies complain that you're taking too long is a you problem, not a shoe problem.

Not for clydesdale hooves
- Fit:
- Runs small
- Size Bought
- 47
These are made for dainty feet and cannot accommodate my clydesdale hooves - even in 47, they are way too narrow in the toe box and caused serious pain just getting into them! Bummer as I was really excited to replace my 15 yr old Specialized shoes that have served me well but have finally died.

Best cycling shoes I have owned

Have had these for two seasons. I am not sure what the other review is talking about as I have had nothing but success with these shoes. Great fit, ample room in toe box (Sidis were causing massive foot pain). No quick release but I have never had an issue taking off.

The tightening mechanism is impossible to loosen, and they are not quick release. Most of the winding & tightening mechanisms on new shoes allow a quick release to unlock the shoe and allow easy exit of your feet. This does not! The mechanism must be re-wound by forcing it in the opposing direction from tightening. One shoe is ok, but the right shoe ... i need stronger hands to take it off.

I agree, the boa does not unwind automatically like the Shimano RC7 which costs the same. i feel the materials are not up to the $225 price. I feel these shoes should be like in the $150 range. I got the white ones and its VERY hard to clean compared to my shimano's RC7.
