Description

Why We Like The Torch 2.0 Cycling Shoe

Stiffer than the Torch 1.0, the Specialized Torch 2.0 Road Shoe is the next step in cycling performance for intermediate-level riding. Its carbon sole is stiffer than the Torch 1.0's composite sole, and its stiffer performance puts more power down to the pedal without adding weight on the upswing. It features a scientifically-tested Body Geometry design that provides proper hip-to-foot alignment for a boost in power, increased efficiency, and reduced chance of injury. The breathable mesh upper fastens quickly with a Boa dial and two hook-and-loop tabs, and there's more room in the toebox for a less-constrictive, sock-like feel.
  • Road shoe is the next step out of beginner cycling footwear
  • Carbon sole enhances stiffness without the weight
  • Body Geometry aligns hip, knee, and foot for a boost of power
  • Boa IP1 Fit System ensures on-the-fly micro-adjustments
  • Breathable mesh upper reinforced with TPU for durability
  • Rubber heel and toe provide off-the-bike traction
  • 3-bolt cleat compatibility

I have to admit I like the tightening system. I fuss a little with the tongue while tightening, and it provides uniform hold across the whole foot. It's much less fussy than the multi strap and velcro. My feet are fussy, just ask anyone who's tried to fit me for a ski boot. I cinch once, and then I'm good for a 50 mile ride. When I bought my last bike (used) it was an upgrade, and I just figured I couldn't be seen in toe clips. The bike would die of embarrassment. So, I went to the LBS and they tried my feet in several shoes. Most felt like torture devices. They ordered the brand new Torch 2, and I was on the road. My only problem with the tongue is that it needs to be wiggled before and during tightening to make sure it doesn't develop a wrinkle which demands attention.

I wear a size 11 US shoe. I have been looking online at size charts and have seen different answers. What size would fit me best?

Hey Tyler, it looks like for this specific shoe a size 11 would be a 44.5!

I have been using the 1.0's for years now and I can barely tell I have anything on my feet. I tried these a couple times and kept getting persistent hotspots and regardless of sock choice, the top of the shoe near the BOA kept digging into my ankle. They do look great, but I was unable to ride more then 20 minutes without pain or rubbing.

I've used SWorks in the past and saw this on sale so I bought one. This shoe almost has it all. Looks good, Stiff, Light, easy to wear. The only thing I can say about it is, its so damn Light that I always have this feeling that it would easily break apart😂

This shoe is probably the best available for those of us who don't want to spend $400 on road bike shoes but want something stiffer than the $75 shoes out there. They are pretty comfortable and kept my feet dry during summer rides of 40+ miles. Good stiffness. Highly recommended! Backcountry makes it easy, including returns, which I had to do for wrong size.
