Description

Road Turbo Presta Valve Tube With Talc

As Specialized's lightest and most supple tube offering, the Road Turbo Presta Valve Tube with Talc is one the least expensive ways you can ditch 40-plus grams of rotating weight on the road. It comes packed in talc for easier installation, and the smooth top makes for easier pump head insertion while the partially threaded valve stem provides a clean interface with said pump. Not to mention, it's also been proven in rolling-resistance testing to reduce drag by as much as 13% per wheel.

  • Road cycling tube with a lightweight, supple design
  • Comes packaged in talc to help make installation a breeze
  • 4.8cm Presta valve base prevents tearing
  • Thinner tube design sheds about 40 grams of weight

Latex weight without the annoyances

I'm 100% tubeless on all of my bikes other than my track bike that is tubular. So why do I buy tubes? For spares. These tubes are some of the lightest and pack down super tight. I keep them as spares in my saddle bag for if I get a big enough puncture that sealant doesn't immediately seal. Unlike latex, they are a lot more durable for long term storage like I plan on keeping them for in my saddlebag. They do have a little bit of air in them out of the box so it is a little messy to roll the air out of them due to the talc. Each one comes in a little plastic bag which I store them in so that they are easier to slide in and out of my saddlebag. These tubes allow me to ride with two tubes instead of one due to being able to pack down so tight! Latex without all the disadvantages. They may be a little bit slower than latex in flat out rolling resistance but I honestly don't care for a spare. They don't lose air overnight like latex either!

I check my inflation pressure daily. I have never had a valve stem fail on these tubes. I have burned through a set of tires and re-installed these in the new set at least once. ..."Known good" tubes, right? These are no "less reliable" than ANY other tube. In fact, my experience might suggest that they are, for whatever reason, MORE reliable than standard tubes. I run Open Corsa 23's at 120psi, and only experience flats on worn out tires. If I am recommending lightweight tubes to someone, this is simply the only option in my mind. What compromise?
