The BOA needs work

Familiarity:
I returned this product before using it

I wanted to like these shoes, but the BOA was annoying so I had to return. I was attracted to this shoe for the wide toe box and an actual grippy sole for not sliding around on granite during my hike- a- bike moments. When I actually tried them on I was pleasantly surprised by the medium flex footbed. It has more flex than the Five Ten Kestrel, but slightly less than the Ride Concepts Tallac Clip. Now the big detractor. The BOA did not have enough slack to get your fingers in and properly tighten the laces easily. I think if that BOA strap was sitting a little further down the foot, it would actually tighten and hold your foot where it is needed and make the laces less critical to use. Note: The whole shoe runs wide.
