SpecializedPower Comp Saddle With MIMIC - Women's

Power Comp Saddle With MIMIC
The Power Comp Saddle With MIMIC differs a little from some of its Power brethren,
but only in ways that are truly awesome. It still features a stiff, carbon-reinforced
shell that's lightweight and smooth to ride on—it's just been built a little more burly, and with the comfort of women riders in mind. The Power
Comp with MIMIC uses hollow Cr-Mo rails, which end up adding more weight than
carbon or titanium, but in the end provide a higher level of durability.
And they deliver superior performance in aggressive seating positions. Now lets get to the good stuff.
The cut-out saddle isn't for everyone, and for us ladies—some of whom have been riding in silent discomfort for years—it's the opposite of what we want. Enter MIMIC technology, which uses decades of Body Geometry knowledge and methodology in order to create comfort women cyclists can finally enjoy. MIMIC's multi-layer cushioning system is molded into the saddle, and designed to imitate the body's response to differing types of pressure. This creates equilibrium in soft tissues, stopping numbness and discomfort before it cuts our ride short.
- A reliable road saddle with anything-but-basic comfort
- Body Geometry design is lab-tested to ensure proper blood flow
- MIMIC uses 5 layers of foam to minimize soft tissue swelling
- Stiff carbon shell delivers a smooth riding experience
- Steel rails add durability for powerful pedaling
- Level II padding built with medium density foam
- SWAT-compatible mounts are molded in to add storage options
- Differing widths accommodate your sitz bones personally

I have tried two other saddles and both have caused pain, one severe. I couldn’t ride even 5 miles without wanting to cry it was so bad. I read the user reviews for this saddle and thought I would try it. My first ride on it was a 31 mile race and I had NO PAIN. I was changing positions (aero, drops, etc) and it was comfortable throughout. I highly recommend this saddle.

Been riding the Selle Italia Diva Gel Flow for a few years and although it was the best saddle I had tried in many years, I still had discomfort "up front" on long rides. Friends had raved about the Specialized Power saddle, so I thought I'd try this Power Comp saddle, since it was the newest iteration of that saddle, with "Mimic". First, let me say it was the best I have tried at fixing that "up front" pain. Completely gone with this saddle. If that's the issue you're trying to solve, I definitely recommend it for that. However, as I rode through the season with it, I developed sitz bone pain, which got worse as the season progressed instead of better (I'm a firm believer that you need to really need to spend time with a saddle before you know if it will work for you). By end of the season, I would end up with severe pain in my tailbone after rides. (It's possible that I have the wrong size, but I was measured by my bike shop and they ordered the size Specialized recommends based on their sizing system.) Additionally, it is a short saddle, so you can't really move around on it much. I like to move in my saddle as I change position from the drops to the hoods to the top bar, and this really only has one sweet spot. So for those reasons, I'm still on my search for a better saddle :(.

A gamechanger

In the 10+ years that I've been riding bikes, I've struggled to find a saddle that works for me. As I started doing longer and longer rides, saddle pain became the limiting factor. I've tried countless models from Liv, Selle Italia, Fizik, Terry, and more that other women raved about, but while some worked better than others, I still had issues with sitbone pain, soft tissue pain, and numbness. After reading about the Mimic technology and the research that Specialized has put into this saddle, I jumped on it. Though I still have some discomfort on my longest rides, this saddle has been a gamechanger for me. Whether its all day mountain bike rides or endless miles on the road, this has eliminated the numbness and mitigated any pain. The shorter nose with the supportive mimic material allows me to stay comfortable in a more aggressive position, while the supportive contoured rear keeps me comfortable when I'm upright. I went with the Comp level to test the waters, and plan to keep this on my mountain bike due to the more durable cromoly rails. I'll soon add the Pro model to my road bike.

First, I’m not a competitive cyclist, but I do try to ride 1-2 hrs a day. The past few years, I had been having female “soft tissue” issues. And padded shorts just add to the discomfort. I loved my Terry Carbon seat that I purchased here a few years ago, but the long “ nose “ was becoming a problem. So this year I tried the ISM open mini seat, the BiSaddle,( not sold here)! totally adjustable, ( all three versions and adjusting my Terry in all sorts of ways. The first two, solved the lady bits issue but put pressure on my inner thigh bone and sit bones, and the BiSaddle was so Hard my teeth rattled and recent back fusion surgery was getting aggravated from the vibration on a smooth bike trail. ! So When I called back to Competitive Cyclist, they recommended this for all my unusual problems and I have to say, riding is back to enjoyable. This seat is still not as padded as the Terry but the trade off is worth it. I don’t have sit bone issues, and my lady bits and back are not aggravated any more. Thank you
