Power Arc Expert Saddle

If you were a big fan of the original Power saddle, you might be pleasantly surprised by how much more comfortable it can get. The Power Arc Expert Saddle features the same channel and length as the original, now with curved Body Geometry technology and more durable Hollow Ti rails. What does this mean? It means you can ride for miles with an in-saddle feel, as opposed to a stiff, uncomfortable on-saddle feel.

Body Geometry provides personalized comfort and support that's ergonomic and lab-tested. Lightweight padding is strategically placed to alleviate pressure and assure blood flow to sensitive arteries, in men and women alike. Body Geometry saddles ensure proper support when riding in the correct position, and they come in multiple widths to support differing body types.

Just needs a bit more padding

Familiarity:

This saddle has a great shape. The "Arc" profile means the sides drop off a bit which is especially good for people who are a bit narrow and don't like to feel like they are sitting on a shelf where the sides of the saddle can dig into the back of your lower glutes. The cutout on this saddle is also great because unlike with some other saddles the area around the cutout is tapered a bit (why can't other companies figure that out?). The one thing this saddle could use to be perfect is just a bit more padding. I know there is a trend of making saddles hard as hell so you don't lose .038382 watts by being comfortably cushioned but come on. I checked out the Pro model with the Elaston as Specialized said it is supposed to be 26% softer or something. Yeah maybe if you have a 12" stack of it under a densitometer. But on the saddles where you have a 1/4'' of it under a thick rubbery cover, there is NO difference (and trust me on that, I would have happily paid the extra $115 for a softer version of this saddle). So, if you have tough sit bones this is a fantastic saddle but if you don't just make sure you have decent padding in your shorts. And just to through this out there, the rubbery saddle cover thing also needs to die. Most of us like to slide around a bit depending on the pace or grade. I know the manufacturers are probably looking for that elusive extra .000002 watt but I think the rubbery covers are probably being used because they are cheaper. I bet you these newer covers will also put a hurting on our expensive lycra bibs after a season. Anyway, buy this saddle just tell the Big-S to pad it more.

Power refined

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

Sit bone width 113 Saddle width 143 After spending a season on the Specialized Power Saddle, I found that there were some pressure points that developed for me over some of my longer rides. After a bit of research I found that the Specialized Power Arc saddle was specifically with a different curve than the original Power saddle. This means that if you want a Power saddle but you felt like the original power didn't fit well for you, then this is your answer. For me this was the case. I found that I was able to ride on this saddle more comfortably and for longer than I was able to ride on the sister saddle. I also found that by comparison, I lost none of the gains in power that the saddle allowed me to have. That being said, this still isn't a great long distance saddle. You're going to be much better off using the Romin saddle if you want a similar fit for anything longer than 70-80 miles of riding. The overall design of the saddle is perfect for allowing you to put down the power. The shape of the saddle in the rear is more flat, and the middle cutout makes it ideal for any type of riding, road, gravel or mountain. The shorter nose allows for more aggressive positioning when needed although you should note that you will likely need to make some fore and aft adjustments to your regular saddle position by comparison. Between this saddle and the Power Arc saddle, if you're on the hunt for a new seat, I firmly believe that you'll find a great fit on one or the other of the two after trying both.

Great Saddle

I was pointed to this saddle by a bike fitter from the standard power saddle. This worked for me. The "wings" don't flare out as much as the standard power saddle. This worked for me much better. Similar fit and cushion as the power saddle but with narrower "wing". I have one of these on each of my bikes.

The Power saddle for Romin users

Familiarity:

I've ridden tens of thousands of miles on the Specialized Romin, but was getting some hot spots while doing lots of trainer time during lockdown, and figured it was time to look for another saddle. Of the Power saddles, the Power Arc is the one you want if you like the Romin. I found the standard Power saddle unbearable. Too flat across the sit bones for me. But the Power Arc is much better; closer to the Romin, and my preferred saddle for trainer time and long days on the road.
