The Align is one of the most affordable cycling helmets from Specialized, and it's been upgraded with modern protection for innovative safety suitable for the streets. The Specialized Align MIPS Helmet uses a low-friction liner that rotates independently for increased impact protection at angled crashes. Combined with Specialized features, the protection system ensures comfortable road performance. Its Headset SX fit system includes a glove-friendly, micro-adjustable dial that ensures a snug fit, while the Tri-Fix straps feel light and low-profile. The 4th Dimension Cooling system ensures ventilation for year-round comfort.

  • MIPS-equipped road-cycling helmet on a budget
  • Easy to adjust fit system for comfortable wearing
  • Ample venting keeps you cool on the open roads
  • Reflective details boost low-light visibility in case the evenings run long

I ordered the blue metallic one, and the color is nice and quality appearance is what's expected for a Specialized product. Helmet may work ok for some people who don't mind the thickness and weight of it. I put it on and looked huge,, my head was like portobello mushroom. Much thicker and heavier than the Giro Foray I'm looking to replace. Maybe is the combo sizing S/M and M/L (instead of having S, M and L sizing) as I use Medium size helmets.

Works great

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer
Fit:
True to size

My wife and I both wear this helmet model. It is comfortable and the vents are pretty good for airflow. It ranks high in the IIHS/Virginia Tech ratings, especially for the price.

Design flaw ruins the helmet

Fit:
True to size

I did a lot of research prior to buying this helmet and was thrilled with the safety profile and price. Unfortunately, the straps that go around your ears are not adjustable. Only the chin strap can be adjusted. For me, the strap behind the ears was far too loose (I could fit my fist underneath it). If the helmet can't be adjusted to fit properly, the safety ratings are meaningless. I had to return it and buy one 3x as expensive but with adjustable straps.

You can adjust each strap individually to get a good fit around your ears.
