Why We Like The Specialized 2FO Roost Clip Mountain Bike Shoe

Blending rugged on-trail performance with sleek, unassuming style, the Specialized 2FO Roost takes party laps with the crew to a whole new level. These casually-styled clip shoes pack all the right features for getting sendy on the bike, yet remain comfortable and stylish when we're chilling at the trailhead or grabbing some post-ride snacks and brews. Things like durable synthetic uppers and a cushioned EVA midsole ensure these kicks stand up to the rigors of daily trail use, but the real superstar is the new SlipNot rubber outsole that provides confident grip in any conditions—regardless of whether we're on the pedals or on our feet. We're also glad to see Specialized's signature Body Geometry technology makes the cut, aligning knees, hips, and feet for optimal pedaling efficiency and comfort when spending hours at a time on the bike.

Stiff uppers and sticky rubber...

Familiarity:
I've used it several times
Size Bought:
46.5
Height:
6' 1"
Weight:
200

I am 6'1" and 200lbs, and typically wear a size 12.5US (Nike, Altra, Hoka). These fit snug with socks on the thin side --I prefer thicker socks normally. Having said that, they offer a pretty solid pedaling platform and walking on them thus far has not been bad at all. They are definitely not geared to XC --but trail/enduro. And for that, for me, they are perfect!

Awesome shoes

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

I recently got these shoes and have used them on 4 rides ranging from 1-3 hrs. I have a fairly wide foot and find these to be a really good fit. My right foot felt a little pinched on the first ride and at the beginning of my last ride, but the leather provides a little stretch and is really comfortable. I use these for trail riding and really like the power transfer. I don't notice a difference coming from an old Sidi dominator 3. They are really light as well and feel comfortable for walking. The cleat does have a small amount of contact when walking, but it should be fine for quick trips to get coffee or beers.

Most(ly) excellent

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

I?m a big fan of laces. I?ve had boas and ratchets over the years and keep coming back to lace ups. Stiff sole, decent venting, solid toe protection, and the fit of laces. Not the widest shoe out there so if you?ve got the need for a wide shoe, look elsewhere. Only downside is the break-in period. After 50 miles I started to notice them settling in.

So uncomfortable

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

Specialized has produced the most uncomfortable mtb shoe on the planet. I didn't think it was possible because I love my original set of specialized shoes.
