Item # SMI1023Fuel V.1 Max M Goggles
Smith's Fuel V.1 Max goggles are a widespread favorite for their fog-free lens and helmet-friendly fit. But, the clear lens doesn't always cut it when the sun comes out, and that's why Smith provides the Fuel V.1 Max M Goggles. It has all of the features that make the Fuel V.1 Max so popular, but it adds a Red mirrored lens to the equation. This means that a blinding sun is an excuse to get a tan, not an excuse for being unable to see.
To ensure that your goggles are fog-free, it's essential that they have a close fit against your face. To these ends, Smith has incorporated its F.A.T. two-layer face foam. Basically, it consists of a dense foam base and a soft, conforming foam mid-layer. It results in a seamless interface that prevents fogging when you're riding. In fact, the two-layer face foam is the upgrade that separates the Max version from the regular Fuel V.1 goggles. And to secure the fit run after run, the straps are held in place with silicone grippers.
The Red mirrored lenses included with the Fuel incorporate tear-off tabs. So, you'll have clear vision when the rain starts coming down. But, if you'd prefer something that's friendlier to both the user and the environment, they're compatible with Smith's roll-off system. It's not dissimilar from an analog camera, in that the pull tab advances the film roll across the lens. And, along with being easier to use than a standard tear-off, you'll also enjoy the moral high ground of taking your used lens-protectors with you, rather than littering the Earth with sheets of tear-off film.
- A go-to goggle for both sunny and rainy days
- Tear-off compatible to maintain clarity on wet days
- Two layers of foam fit close for optimal venting to prevent fogging up
- Silicone-backed retention strap stays in place run after run

Gets the Job Done
Most importantly they follow rule #1: Always look good on the mountain.
A great option from the juggernaut.
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
Smith, I love you. Thank you for making some of the best sport and casual eye wear on the planet, and making it reasonably priced. These goggles are great, I prefer my intakes to the massive air scoops, but for a 2nd set of goggles with sunny lenses, I have enjoyed having these peeper protectors slung around my head. They fit true Medium, maybe bordering on the medium/large size, and are extremely comfortable.
