Forefront 2 Helmet

It's here—the next evolution of Smith's award-winning Forefront, the totally redesigned Forefront 2 Helmet is a full-coverage helmet tailored towards all-mountain riders who demand superior protection, ventilation, and eyewear integration out on the trail.

For added protection, Smith extended the protective Koroyd material into the back of the helmet to now fully encompass the helmet, while internal air channels combine with open intake and exhaust ports to maximize ventilation. Then, the AirEvac channels further promote cooling airflow to prevent overheating and keep your eyewear from fogging mid-ride, and an AeroCore in-mold construction bolsters impact-protection without adding bulk or blocking airflow. You'll dial in an exact fit with the VaporFit adjustment system, and experience refreshingly cool comfort at the top of the climb thanks to an X-Static reactive cooling lining. The three-position adjustable visor helps you find just the right angle, depending on your eyewear, while integrated camera and light mounts give you options to night ride or film from your POV.
  • Updated trail helmet with visor, ventilation, and enhanced shaping
  • Koroyd fully encompasses helmet for ventilated protection
  • AeroCore in-mold foam is incredibly light, yet protective
  • AirEvac ventilation channels prevent overheating or foggy lenses
  • VaporFIt customizes a precise fit
  • Innovative lining cools your skin and wicks sweat

    Lightweight and sleek

    I've used it several times

This helmet is sold as having three main points that sets it about all the rest, lightweight, more protection and cooer. It is no doubt a light helmet, in fact I have never owned a helmet as light as the Smith Forefront 2. More protection with the use of Koroyd, makes sense and I love that about it. The cooler part, not sold on that, yes it maybe be cooler that older model but it's not as cool as other helmets i have owned. For me this is not a deal breaker because I didn't buy it for that reason and it works ok for cooling. I hate bulky helmets and that was the main reason I wanted this helmet, because of the Koroyd material used in construction they can make the foam part thiner and there for a more sleek design and lighter weight. The Forefront 2 also has a couple of things I didn't know till after I bought it, the fit is outstanding and the three position visor is really cool. 5 stars from this mountain biker !

    Love it

    I've used it several times

This is the most comfortable and well ventilating helmet I’ve ever owned.

    Solid Helmet

I've put it through the wringer

The Forefront 2 has been a great helmet, but it is not the most ventilated. Dialing in the fit is really easy, secure, and you can easily forget you have this helmet on. Although I am surprised that there is not padding on the rear of the helmet, I only notice this at the very beginning of each ride. A lot of companies tout a helmet being "low profile", but when I compare this side by side to my Poc Tectal Race Spin and Sweet Protection Bushwacker II, it really is a smaller helmet. For me I can live without this being overly ventilated in exchange for the secure fit, light weight, and performace.

I would you say it compares to your POC Tectal Race Spin?

I would say the POC Tectal is the more comfortable, but also a physically larger helmet. I also am not a fan of how the visor on the Tectal cannot be repositioned.
