Ypsilon Y-Wrench Home Kit

The Ypsilon Y-Wrench Home Kit from Silca is an update on one of the most indispensable tools on the shop workbench, the Y-wrench. The typical Y is a simple tool, or rather 3 tools in one, that's easy to hold, offers good amounts of leverage, and fits easily in an apron pocket. We're used to seeing a 4, 5, 6mm combo or a 2, 2.5, 3mm and sometimes even a Torx setup which are great for common sizes, but we always wondered about having a Y-wrench where we could sub in bits as needed. That’s where the Ypsilon shines.

In typical Silca fashion, this Y-Wrench Home Kit is luxuriously over the top. It receives the typical, and commonly used, fixed 4 and 5mm hexes while the usual 6mm is replaced by a 1/4-inch bit collet with a magnetic attachment where you can select one of the fifteen included hex, Torx, or screwdriver bits to fit.

Another thing we appreciate with the Ypsilon is its tight tolerances for the keys and bits. This yields better tool to component fit which decreases the likelihood of rounding out fastener heads. Additionally, the Chromium Vanadium steel spine of the tool makes the Ypsilon incredibly durable while its lightweight composite body with ergonomic grip provides excellent comfort and control whether you wrench for fun or a profession.

Its crowning touch is a custom Birchwood box that houses the hex, Torx, and driver bits, each receiving its own labeled home in the custom foam insert.
