Why We Like The Shot 2 Cycling Shoe

The Shot 2 represents the pinnacle of Sidi road shoe technology, with replaceable inserts at the toe and heel to make the shoe an investment that will dominate the road for years to come. The SRS (Sole Replacement System) inserts are constructed from nylon and TPU, and work to protect the carbon in areas subject to deterioration. The carbon sole enhances power transmission too, so you can crank with greater intensity knowing your power will translate to the road. To make the shoe more comfortable, Tecno-3 Push rotor system received a redesigned fit system that splits the rotor mechanism into two separate pieces, allowing the shoe to flex between the rotors for a superior fit. The Shot 2 still features an adjustable heel cup with integrated reflectors, and Sidi revamped the heel cup to be lighter and more durable.

Lack of support for replacement parts

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer
Size Bought:
42cm

The Sidi Shot2 is a great shoe. The quality, fit and craftsmanship .... no complaints there (5 Stars!). Be prepared, finding the replacement buckle has been a nightmare. I have spent the last 4 months trying to source a new buckle, lacing mechanism. No one in the US has the parts. Sidi has the replacement part listed over in their Italian site. You guessed it - they will not ship to the US. I spoke with the US distributor who gave me a nice sales pitch. End of the day, I cannot find the parts - I cannot wear the shoes. No one has any idea when parts will be available. Meanwhile, days are turning into weeks and now months. We are paying a premium for Sidi shoes. If Sidi isn't going to support the US market, it's important to consider your options. Before you plunk down the cash ---> replacement parts are impossible to find.

The beauty of Sidi SHOT 2 handmade shoes

Familiarity:
I've used it several times
Size Bought:
46->45.5
Height:
5' 11"
Weight:
165

I originally ordered a size 46 since I have a pair of Zero GoreTex 2s and a pair of 2013 Genius shoes that I was replacing, but in the Shot 2, I found 46 too loose at the heel. Replaced with 45.5s and these fit like gloves. They are absolutely beautiful shoes. I'm impressed with the new carbon sole and replaceable heel and toe inserts. The fit and finish are amazing. The solid connection to the bike impeccable. They seem expensive but since they should last you a decade the cost is negligible. Since all of the most important parts being replaceable, your investment is secure.

Power Transfer And Custom Fit

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer
Size Bought:
45

5' 10"
Weight:

Sidi is not the lightest shoe, but it may well be the most robust. I already owned two pair of Genius and my wife surprised me with the Galaxy Shot 2. I’ve put a little over 7,000 miles on them and they are amazing. The sole is supremely stiff and power transfer is tremendous. Comfort is excellent with plenty of padding in the tongue to avoid hot spots, and great ventilation for hot summer days. Sidi’s dial system is unique but works great. Yes, you may need to adjust mid-ride as your feet expand or contract…which has absolutely nothing to do with the shoe. Sidi are great for adjustability, and the fact you can buy spare parts for high wear items means they will outlast your pedals, and maybe even your bike.

Great shoe, tough to tighten

Familiarity:

This is a well-built shoe worthy of the Sidi name. The on-the-tongue position of the tighteners are a true bear to get fully tight, though. I am constantly tightening them throughout my ride and still can't get them as tight as I like them. For the price, I expect a better design. I would probably not buy these again because of it. In fact, I decided to write this review looking for a replacement shoe after owning them for over a year and 2k miles in them.

Sidi Shot 2

I was in need of a new shoe. I have always worn Sidi, so I thought I would give these a try. They are more comfortable than my previous Ergo 2's. It took at bit to get the hang of the new retention system. I can't be more pleased. I was so pleased that I was going to buy a second pair, until I realized the price when up 40% in the 3 months that have passed since I purchased them. I am not that pleased :)
