I have to start with I have been a long time customer of Competitive Cyclist and Sidi shoes. I currently have a pair of the Sidi Drako ($500 shoes) and when I saw the sale price on the Jarin's I decided to purchase them as a back up. In preparation for a biking trip I ordered a new set of the traction pads for the Drako's. Thinking when you spend this kind of money you have the ability to replace parts that or worn out. Keep in mind these shoes are three years old and should be able to replace the worn out parts. To my frustration the female part of the screw broke loose inside the show on two of the screws. This made it impossible to remove the screws and the traction pads. To further my frustration Sidi or Competitive Cyclist were not willing to help with the situation since they were outside of their one year warranty period. It would be like buying a car realizing you needed to replace the tires and the company saying you needed to replace the entire vehicle. So, with all that said, the Jarin's are great shoes. The fit and performance is top notch. I wore them for four straight days with no complaints. But if you decide to make an investment in a $500 plus pair of Sidi shoes, they may not last as long as expected. I hope that Sidi and Competitive Cyclist can be more helpful in future cases that involves this problem.
