Nice shoe with serious enclosure flaws
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
- Size Bought:
- 44.5
The shoe fits well with more room than usual, as intended for the mega version. It’s a good balance of stiffness for me, stiff but with some flex I like for feel when mountain biking. So great except the enclosure. They opted for their own enclosure instead of Boa, and it’s just not as good. It’s cumbersome to lift up the flap to twist and not really feasible while riding to make small adjustments. If that’s just personal preference the other problem is bigger - the main flap over the top of the foot that says Sidi has a thing that sticks out on the inside. It catches on your crank arm if your foot moves to the inside a little, interrupting pedaling. Obviously the designers think a rider shouldn’t do that but when you’re going over obstacles twisting some it happens. It’s annoying enough I might just eat the high cost of the shoe and get something else.
