Great shoe but I get numb on occasion
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
- Fit: True to size
- Size Bought: 45
Awesome shoe that I'm sure will last forever. It has held up for over 500 miles and multiple bucket washes with no signs of wear. Feel great except for sometimes I do get numb, but I think that's just me... I feel that on a lot of shoes I've had. Love the size options and thanks CC for shipping me 4 pairs to find my fit. Great customer support!

First pair of Sidi shoes. Fit like a glove and the red/white/black looks great. Sole is stiff enough for my cycling style with very good power transfer to the pedals.
Trail shoe?

Good shoe - nothing really special. They do work with my crank bro pedals. The buckle was finicky for the first 3 to four rides but now works perfectly. I wish they were a bit stiffer.
My bestie is super stoked on these

My best friend has been rocking her same pair of Sidi Dominators for 9 years. I gave these to her as a gift since she was definitely due for a new pair. Here's what she had to say about them:
I've had an old pair of Dominators going on 9 years now. I never imagined they'd last so long, but finally the inside of the heel is starting to give out. Having been so pleased with my last pair I was super stoked to get a new pair, I wasn't interested in trying anything new since they proved to work so well for so long.
Out of the box they seem well constructed and they fit just like my old pair, except I've obviously not broken them in yet. I'm a lady that wear size 40 and find that men's tend to be a better fit because my feet are a little wider. The fit feels identical between the shoe from 2008 and the current model. Just as expected, they were pretty comfortable on my first ride, but I will also be happy when they shape to my feet a bit more.
My favorite part of this design is how Sidi changed the release on the buckle. On my old shoes, you push the little side levers in towards your foot to release, and this was an epic pain when grass or twigs were caught underneath them. The new design has the levers pulling up so I see how the previous issue won't happen any more for me. I'm not sure if that was Sidi's intent, but I am much happier with the new buckle design.
We'll see how I feel in 8 years with these shoes, but we're off to a good start"

SIDI, You've done me wrong!
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
- Fit: True to size

This was my 6th pair of SIDI's in more than 12 years of riding. Always size 45 mens regular; Dominator for MTB and Genius for Road. These past 6 pairs of shoes represent the most amazing shoe experience I've ever had. For these shoes, it's been an absolute joy to even just put them on. The supple, compliant, leather fits like a glove, the latching mechanism is simple and quick to tighten and loosen, the soles are stiff without feeling like you are wearing a pair of rocks. To add to that, they put up with wear and tear and can last more than a couple years depending on amount and type of riding.
For this model, some changes were made. First, the ratchet mechanism has become more complicated. It is now much more difficult to line up the strap with the slot, tightening them requires pulling a smaller lever, and loosening them is a lever pull vs. a push. The previous model was so simple I could do it very quickly, off the bike or in the saddle, or even blindfolded. Still, if this was the only thing that changed, I would have given them a pass and a 5 star rating.
The second thing that has changed, is that they've gone away from leather as the material for the tongue, and, I'm assuming the upper as well. This is unforgivable. The whole appeal to these ridiculously expensive shoes is that they are comfortable, compliant, performant, and fit well. They are no longer comfortable or compliant. That, in my opinion, reduces the appeal significantly and does not justify the purchase.
When I first tried them on they were very uncomfortable, but I thought they would eventually break in. I've worn them on over 20 rides, and the tongue is still stiff as cardboard, feels cheap and gouges the top of my feet.
I will say that they've managed to keep the sizing true. They still fit well, but are just uncomfortable and disappointing based on all the amazing experience I've become accustomed to.
Do yourself a favor and shop around. For my next pair, I will.
How are these with crank bros candies or egg beaters for cyclocross?

I really dig these shoes and just purchased my second pair. The are super stiff and comfortable and the power transfer is fantastic. My last pair lasted about three seasons + a ton of bike commuting. I have never been a fan of BOA systems and like SIDI's ratchet and Velcro straps.
Great shoes deliver performance
Great fit. Awesome power transfer. All day comfort. Worth the $
Went with the Mega instead
- Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
- Fit: Runs small
- Size Bought: 44
This 'fit' model just seemed too narrow so I went with the Mega (wider) version. Wouldn't really consider myself to have a wide foot. Quality was great however.
gets the job done!
Used these a few times and they are a great all around shoe. I'd highly recommend these shoes for anyone looking to cycle or mountain bike.

Fantastic shoes

thisbis my third pair only because my dog ate two other pair. I tried other brands in between but these are the only shoes that my feet don't hurt while or after the ride. Very durable and true to size
nice shoes, but not a good fit for me
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

These just never agreed with my feet, which sucks because I really like the style and they seem to fit super nice. They felt too stiff for CX/gravel run-ups. On road rides, the balls of my feet would get pressure-point pain after about 10 miles. FYI I'm not a clydesdale! I thought they might wear in a bit, but they never did. My ugly el-cheapo Shimanos just feel better.
Dad's Go-To

I got these for my pops to replace his old beat-up Sidi's , and he has no complaints. He is an avid cross-country mountain biker, and these have been the perfect shoe for him to stand up to the continual use and abuse.
In regards to fit, he says Sidi has always been the best for his more narrow foot. Tight comfortable fit that guarantees no sloshing around, and easy to ratchet down.
This is his second (maybe third?) pair of the Dominator 5s, with how highly he speaks of them I'm not sure he'll ever make the switch to another pair!
The best

Are the lugs replaceable on this model?
Hello Jason, No they are not replaceable.

This is my second pair of Sidi mountain bike shoes. I really like the fit and performance of these shoes and will buy another pair in 10 or so years. The adjustable caliper buckle tab on the inside of the shoe occasionally catches on the crank arm. The inner buckle tab seems to stick out a little too much and during rough terrain riding. The crank and shoe should smoothly slide against each other without catching under any condition.
Once I had straps adjusted to correct length, I used dremel tool with cutoff wheel and cut excess off, as not to stick down and catch on crank arm. works fine.
I just cut the excess off once I know I've got it where I want it.

The shoes are absolutely awesome. They fit great and had zero break in time.
They're Sidi's...what's not to like
Trying to decide between the 43 and 42 but Sidi's rock!

I bought my first pair of Dominator 2's in 1999. Couldn't have imagined a better shoe. Honestly, can't remember exactly which Shimano pedal I was running then on my Landshark MB. Tried to beat the hell out of them for several years and then moved to egg beaters about 7 years ago. Perfect combo for me, and I run them on mountain and cross bikes. Commute on my cross bike too. Recently moved on the Dominator 5 Fit. Still the most comfortable shoe for me. I've watched many brands and styles come and go, but the Dominator remains the best all around shoe I have found. I must admit that I'm a Sidi fan, and these shoes fit me well. I also ride Sidi Genius road shoes, as well as Sidi Adventure Motorcycle Boots. The Sidi fit in 43's just seem perfect. Tough, comfortable, and just a perfect blend of stiffness and comfort. People complain about the cost, but I consider these a bargain at $249. Even better, I scored mine for $216 at my LBS!
Only cycling shoes for me

I tried on every pair of cycling shoe out there and Sidis are the only brand that work for my foot. The parts are super easy to replace when the proverbial s&$37 hits the fan and something breaks.
Sidi shoes haven't been made from leather in well over two decades.
