Alba Carbon Cycling Shoe

For many cyclists, owning their first pair of Sidi shoes is a rite of passage from an enthusiast to a serious cyclist. The fit, comfort, and quality of Sidi shoes are something that any new cyclist or seasoned master can appreciate, and Sidi aims to get more cyclist's feet in Sidi shoes and enjoy its emblematic styling and performance at a price that's rare in a pair of shoes from Sidi. The men's Alba Carbon Cycling Shoe is perfect if you're in the market for your first pair of road cycling shoes or anyone looking for some value-packed shoes for putting in long-distance training, and even toeing the line at your first race.

The upper consist of a material known as Politex and it fits your feet like only a high-end pair of shoes from an Italian footwear firm can. Its construction features several overlapping layers with different properties that are compacted into two fabrics, a knitted fabric and felt, that's then dyed for long-lasting color retention. In addition to fitting well and providing excellent breathability, Politex is very durable and resists ripping, tearing, stretching and fading. Two hook-and-loop straps near the front of the foot combined with Sidi's Tecno-3 retention system makes it easy to tighten up the kicks just before the county line sprint. The Tecno-3 system is very similar to the dials featured on other high-end shoes with micro-adjustable widgets adapting the upper to the shape of the foot for a customized fit. The wire material is non-binding for quick and effortless adjustments on the fly. Sidi is well known for serviceability and the buckles are replaceable if needed.

On the bottom of the shoe, Sidi uses its Millennium 4 carbon composite sole which is lightweight, much appreciated on the climbs, and directs all of the pedaling energy into the pedals, perfect for the sprints. The sole is much stiffer than full nylon ones typically featured on shoes at this price point. An anti-slip toe insert and replaceable polyurethane heel pad, improve walkability and add overall durability. The Sidi Alba road shoes are compatible with all 3-hole road cleats and pedals and utilize Look's Memory Eyelets for easy cleat alignment and replacement down the road.

  • Sidi road cycling shoes at an aggressive price
  • Proven stiffness and durability of the Millenium 4 outsole
  • Politex synthetic uppers conform to your foot
  • An upper dial with hook-and-look strap fastening system
  • Sidi shoes set the course for style and performance for all cycling shoes

I've been a huge fan of Sidi for a long time. This will be my last pair unless they can improve on the Techno closure system. The shoes are comfortable and great fit, but the closure system is terrible compared to the BOA system. Making the micro adjustments while riding is not the easiest. BOA is a simpler design and just works better. Sidi had been making a dial design long before BOA but they have not improved the design.

I find these super comfortable now that I've put a couple hundred miles on them. The tongues seem to be shorter than those on other cycling shoes I've had, however, and they kind of stick right into the "corner" between the top of my foot and my ankle. It's gotten better as they've broken in but it does preclude wearing "footy" socks. The twist-buckle thing works pretty well but I will say that the boa on my previous (cheaper) cycling shoes was easier to adjust and were easier to get on and off (you'd have to undo the velcro strips on these to easily put 'em on/take 'em off, which I tend to want to leave once I get them properly adjusted. Having said that, the fit is mighty nice and I haven't found myself WANTING to adjust the tightness during a ride and they're getting a bit easier to put on and remove. Overall, I do like these, they just need to break in a bit. I like them but I'm not over the moon.

If you don't have a carbon sole shoes you need to. When you put the power down it transfers across your whole foot. I wish the shoe had better cooling . And the shoe runs about a half size large, my daily shoes and old cycling shoes are EU 45 US 11.

Interesting on fit as I used to use Sidi but found them too small as I wear a EU45 too and find Garne to fit me better. Perhaps they changed their sizing?

what is the width of the sidi alba shoe.

Hello Stanley, If you are referring to what would be considered the normal width of the show per each individual size I would consider them to be a bit narrower than your normal shoe that you might wear. If you have a wider foot you may want to consider the Sidi Mega's as they are designed for the wider foot.

About 3 inches
