Alba 2 Mega Cycling Shoe

If you show up to a Competitive team group ride, a quick glance will leave you with one solid impression: we're partial to Sidi shoes. The unwavering stiffness and supple uppers never seem to fall short of our expectations, and the Alba 2 Mega Cycling shoes drive that home in a wider package that delivers a comfortable fit for those of us with feet that are far form the slender Italian profile of Sidi's standard fit. The Alba 2 Cycling Shoes offer the stiffness of carbon, reliable support, and supple uppers we covet from Sidis, but with a much more accommodating price tag. When value is a must, these shoes provide a platform that won't waiver while you ride, and all without shrinking your bike upgrade budget for the year. Plus — it doesn't hurt that they feature stunning aesthetics and the emblematic styling that's signature of Sidi.

The upper consist of a material known as Politex and it fits your feet like only a high-end pair of shoes from an Italian footwear firm can. Its construction features several overlapping layers with different properties that are compacted into two fabrics, a knitted fabric and felt, that's then dyed for long-lasting color retention. In addition to fitting well and providing excellent breathability, Politex is very durable and resists ripping, tearing, stretching and fading. Two hook-and-loop straps near the front of the foot combined with Sidi's Tecno-3 retention system makes it easy to tighten up the kicks just before the county line sprint. The Tecno-3 system is very similar to the dials featured on other high-end shoes with micro-adjustable widgets adapting the upper to the shape of the foot for a customized fit. The wire material is non-binding for quick and effortless adjustments on the fly. Sidi is well known for serviceability and the buckles are replaceable if needed.

On the bottom of the shoe, Sidi uses its Millennium 4 carbon composite sole which is lightweight, much appreciated on the climbs, and directs all of the pedaling energy into the pedals, perfect for the sprints. The sole is much stiffer than full nylon ones typically featured on shoes at this price point. An anti-slip toe insert and replaceable polyurethane heel pad, improve walkability and add overall durability. The Sidi Alba road shoes are compatible with all 3-hole road cleats and pedals and utilize Look's Memory Eyelets for easy cleat alignment and replacement down the road.

Sidi recommends following the procedure below to ensure that you choose the right size.
Measure your foot by following these steps:
1. Put a sheet of paper on the floow with the short side against the wall.
2. Put the sole of your bare foot on it with the heel pressing against the wall.
3. Mark the point in front of the tip of your longest toe on the sheet of paper.
4. Measure the distance between the margin of the sheet of paper where you placed your heel and the point where you made the mark. Always round up the measurement to the nearest mm.
You may find that your right and left foot are different lengths. Always measure both of them and use the longest measurement as your reference.
If you are undecided between two sizes after consulting the table, Sidi recommends that you opt for the larger size.

Size chart not accurate

I returned this product before using it
Runs large
Size Bought
5` 8"
175 lbs

The chart said to order a 45 for size 10.5 but the shoe was way too big. I would say it’s a half size, possibly a full size bigger than what they say. Also, unless you have a very very wide foot these will not fit you. I thought I had a wide foot when it came to road shoes but man was I wrong. These were huge in width as well but a good thing if you do really have a wide foot.

Great quality, fit and value

I've used it several times
True to size

I like the wider "Mega" sizing paired with velcro for perfect adjustability. The Alba 2 is a great quality and fit for the money- typical Sidi quality. I have Sidi shoes that are going strong for 10 years- a bit scuffed, but still comfortable, no loose seams or stitching, hardware still works perfectly. Sidis can be expensive, but I have NEVER had quality issues in over a dozen pairs, and if I extend the price over years of satisfaction with fit and durability, the cost is reasonable- even cheap. The Alba is my backup pair for the next day after rain while my other shoes dry. They also are any-day go to for all but racing. Great quality, fit, and affordable pricing- you can't go wrong.

Is the toe box roomy? And are the sides actually a bit wider than “regular” fits? So many of the other brands have adopted an extremely narrow profile over the last few years—designer looks. They look like a good deal!

Since these don't come in half-sizes, how should I size if I wear a 46.5 in a "normal" width Sidi shoe? I need more volume in the toe box area for orthotics, and normal Sidi's are just too tight around my forefoot. Thanks.
