Description

Alba 2 Cycling Shoe

Sidi marks a special place in the heart of many cyclists. Its performance-above-all approach to cycling shoes has long meant no compromises, including to your bank account, but in its second iteration the Alba 2 Cycling Shoes offer the stiffness of carbon, reliable support, and supple uppers we covet from Sidis, but with a much more accommodating price tag. When value is a must, these shoes provide a platform that won't waiver while you ride, and a fit that's near impossible to beat without shrinking your bike upgrade budget for the year. Plus — it doesn't hurt that they feature stunning aesthetics and the emblematic styling that's signature of Sidi.

The upper consist of a material known as Politex and it fits your feet like only a high-end pair of shoes from an Italian footwear firm can. Its construction features several overlapping layers with different properties that are compacted into two fabrics, a knitted fabric and felt, that's then dyed for long-lasting color retention. In addition to fitting well and providing excellent breathability, Politex is very durable and resists ripping, tearing, stretching and fading. Two hook-and-loop straps near the front of the foot combined with Sidi's Tecno-3 retention system makes it easy to tighten up the kicks just before the county line sprint. The Tecno-3 system is very similar to the dials featured on other high-end shoes with micro-adjustable widgets adapting the upper to the shape of the foot for a customized fit. The wire material is non-binding for quick and effortless adjustments on the fly. Sidi is well known for serviceability and the buckles are replaceable if needed.

On the bottom of the shoe, Sidi uses its Millennium 4 carbon composite sole which is lightweight, much appreciated on the climbs, and directs all of the pedaling energy into the pedals, perfect for the sprints. The sole is much stiffer than full nylon ones typically featured on shoes at this price point. An anti-slip toe insert and replaceable polyurethane heel pad, improve walkability and add overall durability. The Sidi Alba road shoes are compatible with all 3-hole road cleats and pedals and utilize Look's Memory Eyelets for easy cleat alignment and replacement down the road.

  • Sidi takes stiffness and support seriously with these sleek kicks
  • Accommodating price makes Sidi affordable for the average cyclist
  • Proven stiffness and durability of the Millenium 4 carbon outsole
  • Politex synthetic uppers conform to your foot
  • An upper Tecno 3 dial with hook-and-look strap fastening system
  • Soft Instep 3 system relieves foot-numbing pressure to instep
  • Heel cup helps secure your foot in place, reduces slipping
  • Sidi shoes set the course for style and performance for all cycling shoes

I don't have wide feet but, have a bunion on my left foot which makes narrower shoes problematic. Finding shoes that combine comfort with performance can be a challenge. I have used shoes from various makes such as Specialized, Northwave, DHB etc. All have worked okay but, with the exception of the Specialized Experts I own which are well past their prime, none have been all that comfortable on long rides. Enter Sidi. These shoes are perfect for me feet. Not narrow or overly wide and are made of supple material that conforms to my feet. I took them for a ride and never gave them a thought. The craftsmanship is excellent and they are nice looking to boot. All in all VERY happy with them so far.

The tight is not a reference to discomfort. They fit exactly as I like. The bright color is perfect for distracted drivers
