All clear for rainy rides.
If the Spring Classics taught us anything this year, it's that foul weather is simply a part of riding. Basically, all that we're able to do is prepare accordingly, However, starting the day in a heavy waterproof jacket isn't always an option. Instead, you need a jacket that's lightweight, minimal, and easily packable. And while the Showers Pass ProTech ST Jacket makes an ideal emergency piece when rain joins a training ride, its transparency also let's sponsors get their due exposure during wet races.
The ProTech ST is made from a waterproof, yet breathable membrane. And unlike its prior iteration, the ST now features fully-taped seams for complete rain protection. Also new to the ST generation is a progressively more streamlined fit that eliminates any bunching, pinching, or wind-flapping. Additionally, the jacket has a redesigned zipper and wrist cuffs that better prevent water seepage than in the past. You'll find that wheel-spray is better addressed with a longer tail.
At the back of the ProTech ST, Showers Pass also redesigned the rear vent. Now, the vent is larger, which increases airflow throughout the jacket. As a result, the internal microclimate of the jacket remains consistent, eliminating unnecessary sweat and humidity. Even better, with all of the new features, the ST still only tips the scales at around five-ounces, making it easily packable in case of emergencies.
