XT M8000 SM-CRM81 1x Chainring

A larger cassette gear range and classy new aesthetics define the XT M8000 line, so weight is one of the only distinguishing factors between it and its pricier sibling. Don't forget to grab an XT M8000 1x Chainring to go with your setup, as it delivers Dynamic Chain Engagement (DCE) technology to grab onto your chain and not let go as you enjoy the wealth of possibility your new gear range delivers. The hooked and subtly squared profile was engineered to provide grip without slowing you down as you pedal towards whatever the trail has in store.

Shimano is a master at spreading the wealth of trickle-down technology across its product lines, so if you've been trying to upgrade and wallowing in dismay about the high price tag of XTR, you can stop now. Overhauling its entire XT line, Shimano brought the groupset up to the level that XTR was at just a few years back, giving dirt hounds the chance to ride with the precision of XTR, without the price tag.

  • Pedal in your ideal range while enjoying trickle-down spoils
  • Stainless steel teeth use Dynamic Chain Engagement to hang on
  • Hooked, squared profile grips without affecting your speed
  • Aesthetic upgrade matches the step up in functionality

Will this chainring work in a XTR M9020 crankset, with Sram Eagle drivetrain (Rd, chain and cassette)? Thanks

Cheap and Cheerful

I've put it through the wringer

Easy to install and works perfectly. Used on an XT 1x11 drivetrain. Haven't dropped a chain and it seems to be very durable after nearly a year of consistent use.

Smooth Operator

I've put it through the wringer

Recommended for anyone climbing, has a 1x and XT..so solid. Stainless steel teeth, so it lasts a long time..Shimano all the way ..

Ride Shimano

I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I'm replacing the OEM SRAM drivetrain on my '16 Yeti ASRc with Shimano...can't wait to ride this Spring!!

Shimano makes good stuff, yo

I've put it through the wringer

You know shimano makes quality stuff, don't you? This slapped right on to my Shimano crankset that had been serving as a 2x system. Install is a breeze, and it's performed perfectly. On the few times when I've completely spaced turning my rear mech clutch to the "on" position, this ring has held the chain tightly, even through gnarly chunder, on a fairly long 29er chainstay.

Works Great

I've put it through the wringer

I paired this up with my M8000 crank. Does a great job of holding onto the chain, looks great, and comes in all the popular sizes.

Just remember to run it on XT cranks!

Is it compatible with XTR 1X cranks?
