Why We Like The Shimano XT CS-M8000 Cassette

We shift smoothly across everything from steep, rock-strewn trails to smooth-buffed XC loops with the Shimano XT CS-M8000 Cassette. Whether we're overhauling our trail bike's chewed-up cassette or converting to a 1x11 drivetrain, this 11-speed cassette shaves precious grams while standing up to abuse on the trail with its mixture of lightweight aluminum and robust steel cogs. Rhythm step gear progression ensures precise shifting without annoying ghost shifts on the trail. The wide range of available gears saves your knees from undue stress on lung-busting climbs, available in 11-40T, 11-42T, or 11-46T versions to suit your riding style and local terrain.

Working great so far for my Frankenbike!

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

Decided to convert an old Orbea Onix from a 2x to a 1x drivetrain. I was originally looking for a SRAM 11-42 but with the bike part shortage that was a no go and also didn't like how the anodized coating would eventually look after use. So I opted for this cassette and I don't have any complaints so far. Looks great and works great with my Rival 1 derailleur. Very clean shifts and overall very quiet. Love the range and combined with a 42t chainring in the front I haven't lost any performance switching from 2x to 1x. IMO it's definitely worth the investment.

can't go wrong with M-8000

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

I use this cassette on my gravel bike with a 36t front chainring. Climbing is a breeze. Still going strong after 500 miles.
