Enduro tough, XC light.

Racing enduros requires footwear that allows you to pedal efficiency on the transfers and timed stages, think XC light and stiff, with the durability needed to protect your feet and hold up to rock, roots, and creek crossings, as well as a grippy sole for larger trail clipless pedals and off the bike exploits. If you're in the market for this kind of footwear, have a look at Shimano's Men's SH-ME7 Limited Edition Cycling Shoes in its handsome Grey colorway. These are ideal shoes for the all-mountain trail and enduro rider seeking a lightweight option with the before mentioned protection and traction and Shimano's TORBAL (Torsional Balance) providing stability and some tuned flex to optimize pedal feel and performance.

The SH-ME7 achieves its glove-like fit and refined power transfer courtesy of its perforated, synthetic upper and stiff sole, which scores an 8 out of 12 on Shimano's stiffness index meaning it'll get the power to the pedals without feeling like you're in wooden clogs when scrambling up the hike-a-bike bits. Shimano also adds a protective panel over the shoe's speed lacing for a custom fit, with a ratchet buckle up top for quick on-the-fly adjustments.

Inside the shoe, a reinforced heel stabilizer anchors your foot in place, so you don't lose power on technical uphill moves and long fire roads, while the shoe's stretch-neoprene collar protects the ankles from errant debris. And if you have to dismount when the terrain is too steep or tricky, the Michelin lugged rubber outsole provides reliable grip over loose rocks and slippery creek bottoms.

  • An enduro tough shoe with XC lightness
  • Stiff sole efficiently transfers power
  • Michelin rubber outsole for extra grip on hike-a-bike sections
  • Perforated synthetic upper comfortably ventilates
  • Speed lace and top buckle strap for a refined fit
  • Compatible with two-bolt mountain bike cleats

Comfortable Enduro Shoe

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Bought this shoe for enduro riding. Been riding in it for a month now. True to size, very comfortable shoe. I paired it with Crank Borthers E mallet. Sturdy stiff platform and the shoe is comfortable walking around in. My referance is a S-Works XC shoe.

Good Shoe

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

Durable, well ventilated, quick on and off. Good traction for hike a bike, but soles are stiff, so your heels will want to pull up on those steep hikes, and could lead to a blister if you have to do a lot of hiking. Comfortable on the bike.

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

I have owned Shimano DX's, AM 45, MT200's, and now the ME7's. The fit on these is on point. Great heal cup retention, roomy toe box, and a snug forefoot when you ratchet it down. The sole is nice and stiff and the cleat is recessed enough to not smack the ground when walking around. This also means that they have great lateral contact points with my HT T1 pedals.
