Saint PD-M820 SPD Pedals
Bombing down the steepest and chunkiest rock gardens on this side of the Mississippi can take divine levels of courage, and while we might not be saints ourselves, we're glad we've got pious pedals like the Shimano Saint PD-M8020 SPD's to give us a sense of godlike stability in situations that can send us soaring down the mountain. The Saint PD-M8020's combine your favorite burly downhill platform pedal with Shimano's XT SPD clipless to boost your control when you're charging off of drops that would have your grandmother saying five hail-Mary's. Unlike the XT SPD's, the Saints feature a wider contact area for keeping you planted, plus 4 adjustable pins on each side that give you added security if you can't get clipped in in time.
While the Saints may stray from the XT PD-M8020 when it comes to the platform's crafting, it has its similarities, too. Namely, the trusty SPD binding, with dual-sided entry and adjustable float. If you've used clipless pedals before the mechanism will feel familiar and sturdy, but their intuitive nature and large platform make them ideal for those looking to snag their first clipless setup as well. The design keeps up a bombproof build, and mud-shedding construction to keep you on the trail and in control through the burliest downhill descents.
- We might not be saints, but we know a godly pedal when we see one
- DH hungry pedals with MTB clipless technology
- Big platform with 4 adjustable pins add grip when unclipped
- Bombproof construction holds up to the gnariest DH laps
- Dual-sided entry for easy access on all sides
- Four-degrees of float let you pick your release point
- Equipped with 2-bolt SPD cleats for setting up your kicks
- Sealed cartridge bearings stay clean and grime-free for years of use

Clipless Convert
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
Bought these as a first set of clipless pedals to convert from flats. Really happy with them so far. I found it easy to get comfortable clipping into these without much practice. I also appreciated the extra platform giving you some added support when riding. Pedals could be used with flat shoes but would not recommend.

Perfect for Enduro
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
I've used both Shimano XT and XTR pedals over 20 years for Trail riding and XC racing. Finally getting into the rowdier sport of Enduro racing on a big big bike with lots of travel and now this pedal's huge platform makes total sense. They feel just like the others - but more stable, especially under my five ten Kestrels.

Awesome compromise between flat support
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
I love the platform flat pedals provide, but prefer being clipped in 99% of the time. These pedals are the perfect compromise with great outside sole support on turns, and the security if being clipped in. I don't have any issues clipping out with the platform, but I also didn't add the optional pins.

SHIMANO SAINT SPD PEDALS?! ARE YOU KIDDI
In this video I'm unboxing and testing out a brand new SPD pedal from Shimano. But this isn't just an SPD pedal, this is a SAINT SPD pedal! The Saint lineup is reserved for the absolute best of the best in durability, reliability and performance. So these pedals better be great, right?

Clipped in and free
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
If you're riding gravity clipped in, there really is no other choice. Shimano ships these without the pins installed. making it easy to custom tailor your pin feel.

Ready to take a beating!
I bought these pedals to swap out my XTR pedals on my fat bike. These should be able to take a beating and will provide a lot more surface area for my feet.

Bomb Proof Pedals
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
Switched from Candys to these and SPDs are a lot nicer. They are adjustable and the Saints are some of the most durable and bomb proof pedals you can buy.

I wish all customer reviews were this in depth... Thanks for this! I'm actually considering this pedal for solely road biking, transitioning from flat pedals and Vans to SPD. Thanks!
