For how much I rode my mtb, this battery last FOREVER. I of course have no similar products to compare it to but I like this battery!

Is there a difference between BT-DN110-1 , -2, -3. I purchased this battery as an upgrade and asked my LBS to do the install. I picked the bike up and have been riding it for a couple of months with no issues. Yesterday I connected the eTube project and saw that the old battery was still in the bike. Fortunately the LBS gave me back the old battery which I kept. I checked this and found this to be the BT-DN110. Is there any specific size requirements. The box indicates BT-DN110-1

Shipped dead battery

    Can’t believe you would ship out a USED dead battery!

    When the box came it looked like this was a return, I just got a call from my LBS telling me the battery has 0 charge! How disappointing- guess I won’t be riding my bike this weekend

    I've just come to decide that Di2 is the way to go. With that you have to have the battery of course and it's the only option. Luckily they are great, they charge quick, hold for a long time, easy to use.

    Syncro shift is the shiz-nits, for real!

    Set this up on my cross bike that is usually a 1x system with TRP Hylex brakes and a single climbing-shifter button setup on the right lever. I put a front derailleur on with road rings to ride through the winter while my road bike lives on the trainer and programmed the one shifter to use the syncro-shift option to automatically shift the front derailleur at specified points and its freaking nirvana.

    Get's the job done

      For anyone who hasn't tried it, Di2 is life changing. It makes shifting perfect even when you're under heavy load and really shouldn't be doing it. Obviously the battery is a critical component of Di2 and I've found that it holds charge very well, going dozens of hours of riding between charges.

      Have had multiple Di2 bikes and the new internal battery has been flawless. No issues to report and easy to use and install. My only minor issue I raise would be an internal mechanism that would a universal support/attach and dampen the unit in the frame. A good shop mechanic can work around this though.

      Just had this battery installed on my bike, and I love that it is tucked neatly into the seat post! From everything I've read and word of mouth from other users this thing is rad!!! Long and reliable battery life. Can't wait to put it through its paces!

      It occurred to me how crazy Di2 is, as I was running a firmware update on my bicycle. When Skynet takes over we Electronic Shifting cyclists are in trouble.

      All Jokes aside though. 1600 miles on this drivetrain and not a single issue or adjustment needed. Every shift has been flawless, and barring any unforseen circumstances, like a crash or some good old fashioned garage or transportation mishap, I fully expect go 6000+ miles with no issues. The only drawback I can find, and this is totally a personal preference, but I sort of miss the mechanical drivetrain for no reason other than the simplicity of pushing a lever which pulls a cable which moves a derailleur. I would argue that the Di2 lacks tactile feedback when shifting, but that is just me nitpicking. I rode the battery until it completely died just to see what would happen. At about 1300 miles (this includes plenty of playing with the new group, shifting just to hear the sounds and show off the auto trim) The battery died on my 18 mile commute to work one morning, first the front derailleur refused to shift, after a few more shift button clicks it did shift down into the small ring, and I had about 30+ shifts of the rear derailleur before the system became unresponsive. So 1300 miles, I think it is safe to say a rider would need to be quite negligent to run out of power on accident.

      How does this battery compare with the previous version of the internal Di2 battery (i.e., the SM-BTR2)? Specifically: 1) is it electronically compatible with the Shimano 9070 groupset; and 2) does it have the same external dimensions such that it is compatible with a seat post battery holder that already works with the SM-BTR2?
