Peace of mind.

If you're running Ultegra BR-RS805 or 105-level BR-RS505 hydraulic disc brakes on your road bike, you can refresh your braking power with Shimano's compatible BR-RS805/RS505 Flat Mount L02A Resin Ice-Tech Disc Brake Pad. Made to help the brakes remain as cool as possible under hard braking, Ice Technology refers to an additional radiation fin pad built into the brake pad, constructed with aluminum and steel, that improves radiation performance to maintain a lower surface temperature. The resin compound that comprises the rest of the brake pad, though slightly less durable than metal, is considerably less noisy and offers better braking modulation than sintered metal, for above average braking performance in a range of slick, challenging conditions.

I have a 2018 Giant Defy Advanced Pro 1 with the new Utegra

br-r8070 brakes. Will these pads work with these calipers?

Hard to beat shimano brakes

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Its not surprising that these pads run a little quieter than the metallic version. Side note: these pads are smaller than thier post mount caliper predecessors but i haven't noticed any decrease in stopping power. With a smaller contact area and comparable break power, I suspect they will ear faster. Time will tell.

Last about 1.5K miles

these are decent road pads but not when you try to use them often on the hills etc. I am told metallic have better stopping power but wear even faster.

First set only last me 1k miles

Wow, road disc is supposed to be the future. The low-profile calipers look nice on the frame and these pads are super quiet, but they do not last long if you're a rider like me. Always going up and down mountain roads and at 200lbs, the pads wear out quickly.
