Calm down and count to 11.

Juggling a chain pin and a chain tool while keeping the two separate ends of the chain together often results in the pin falling under the work bench, couch, or desk. At this point, the pin has effectively melted into the ether, and the final step of your overhaul has come to naught. We've all been there, and our advice is to take a deep breath, count to 11, and calmly retrieve a replacement from this here pack of Shimano 11-Speed Chain Pins.

Holds Your Chain Together

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Grab a few bags of these and follow Shimano's instructions. Sure they're fussier than quick links, but they're also cheaper. Shimano's been using the design for years so they're perfected.

if you need a pin you need one. simple. works just fine, completely oem.

still prefer a master link

I still prefer a master link but this system is nice too, I always carry a few spares in my trail pack

    They are what they are.

Just fine. Work as they should. Pricey at $3 per pin. Wonder what a chain would cost if they priced it by the pin at $3 each in the chain...

These are just fine. Exactly what I needed. Work as they should. Pricey considering these cost 1/3 the cost of the actual chain. Wonder what a chain would cost if it were priced at $3.00 per pin?

Never hurts to have a spare!

You never know what can happen on the road or trail so it's always nice to have spare chain pins around.

Always a must have when using Shimano chains. I always like to have a 3-pack on hand for builds and working on other peoples bikes.

      A Must Have!

These things are a time saver. It's worth the extra few bucks to have these on hand rather than trying to re-use an old pin while on the side of a trail. Plus, re-using pins cause a weak point in the chain the is likely to break later. I know, it's happened to me. Twice.

good to keep in the tool/riding pack

If you run a 1x11 shimano chain you should get a pack of these and a spare link or 2 in the tool box or riding pack, the worst thing is to get stuck in the backcountry without a chain.
