Selle SMP's saddles are known for addressing pressure at the perineum region, as they rely on the Italian brand's innovative shape to keep you comfortable and pressure-free while out on your bike. The Hybrid model was made to fully ensure these characteristics, as its durable materials keep you supported for the long haul.
Wearing much of the same shape as the Lite 209, the Hybrid is best suited for cyclists with average-width pelvises, as it features a moderate profile and an average amount of padding. At the nose, there's the characteristic "beak" shape designed to provide a flat base while sitting, without excessive pressure on the genital area. SMP's pronounced central channel was also incorporated, which further reduces pressure on the pudendal nerve and surrounding soft tissue. The back of the saddle is raised for an enhanced seated pedaling position, where body weight is divided between the rear and lower part of the ischial tuberosity region. This shape also helps reduce overall pressure on the coccyx while riding over rough surfaces.
The saddle's foam elastomer padding gets wrapped in leather for the black version and a durable Lorica microfiber in the colored versions. Its durable nylon/carbon composite shell rides on stainless steel rails, ensuring a secure perch that'll hold up for both road and mountain applications.
The Selle SMP Hybrid is available in one size (275 x 140mm) and in the colors Black and White. It is handmade in Italy and has a claimed weight of 320 grams.

Remarkably comfortable
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
Relative novice and early on had a heavily padded saddle I outgrew. This has a great balance of perineal slot and light padding. Can go 25 miles with no discomfort. Also a terrific value on sale.
RELIEF
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
Best saddle so far, recently went on a 7 hr (7 island) bike ride with a group and had no numbness or pain in the perineal area, outstanding performance straight out of the box. Rode a 56 miler yesterday with the same group on a different saddle (different bike) and feeling pain this afternoon so needless to say I will be replacing it with the blue version to match my bike.
Great comfort
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
So far, it has been great. The seat is very comfortable. Perhaps its the engineering of the seat shape. I do not get any saddle pain or numbness, which is new for me! I have gone on a few 40+ mile rides, and they have all been extremely comfortable. I would buy this seat again 👍🏽
153 Miles of Comfort
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
Bought the saddle because I was riding RAMROD (153 miles for the 1st time ever). No discomfort at all. The best part is you can move forward or backward on the saddle and still get best effort to the pedals.
Great purchase
I use this on my Fuji carbon road bike and couldn't be happier. Yes, it is larger/heavier than the sliver of a seat on the original install, but I choose fit/comfort over saving a few ounces in weight. Now I can ride comfortably for 30 milers On consecutive days. I should also point out that beyond the added comfort, the hole/gap designed in the seat also allows the nether regions to get constant air...and thus, stay cooler in the Vegas heat. I am buying another one for my soon-to-be delivered Cannondale mountain bike.
