SMP for the Win
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
I've been an avid SMP saddle user for quite some time. I find them to be the most comfortable saddles I have used to date. In the SMP line up I can ride a couple of the saddles and depending on the bike is how I choose which one. Century rides or Trainer = SMP Stratos Fat Bike = Stratos Enduro bike = Drakon Road Bike for crits = Drakon Now just recently I have been riding the Blaster and really love it, I feel that will be my new saddle for the road bike. The reason I have the Drakon as I wanted a saddle that would allow me to slide up a bit when going on break aways or get over the cranks a little more prepping for that big sprint and the Stratos was not allowing me to do that like I wanted. Now that I have the Blaster I feel that will be the new road saddle. Now onto the F30c, this saddle will fit a wide range of user based on the shape of the saddle, but for me I found it to be just a bit off and I could quite seem to locate that sweet spot. Why try it you ask, well that's a great question. I wanted it for riding my mountain bike. I felt every once in a while when hitting some steeper descents I would hit the tail of the Drakon when trying to get over the rear wheel on my Endruo bike. I felt the flatter profile would eliminate that issue. I'm giving it a 4 star review as it's a great saddle, it just didn't fit my seat bones. Hi Robert, can you tell me what your sit bones measure? I'm also considering this for mtn biking. I currently run the WTB Koda but am looking for something comparable with a cut out.
