Blaster Saddle

We're used to seeing pressure-relieving cutouts on road saddles, and Selle SMP understands that trail riders might want the comfort of its signature cutout channel too. The Selle SMP Blaster Saddle blends the company's renowned pressure-relieving design and a durable nylon/carbon composite shell for a resulting versatility to span both road and mountain applications.

Like the all-rounder Stratos and Dynamic, the Blaster is best suited for cyclists with average-width pelvises, as it features a moderate profile and a fairly minimal amount of padding. At the nose, there's the characteristic "beak" shape designed to provide a flat base while sitting that minimizes pressure. Down the center, SMP's pronounced central channel further reduces pressure on the pudendal nerve and surrounding soft tissue. The back of the saddle is raised for an enhanced seated pedaling position, where body weight is divided between the rear and lower part of the ischial tuberosity region. This shape also helps reduce overall pressure on the coccyx while riding over rough surfaces.

  • A durable saddle with pressure-relieving design elements
  • Large center cutout reduces pressure on sensitive tissues
  • Shell construction is both light and durable
  • Minimal padding provides support without excess bulk
  • Recommended for cyclists with average-width sit bones

Amazing Saddle

I've put it through the wringer

My stock saddle on my mountain bike was causing me to go numb in the legs pretty quickly into my ride. The discomfort was bad enough to cause me to cut my rides short. I replaced it with the Blaster and I haven't felt any numbness even deep into a long day in the bike. Very happy with it and would reccomend it to anybody expierencing discomfort while on the bike.

Good feel, if it fit

I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

My previous (short nose) saddle has its nose 7cm behind bottom bracket. It mount pretty in very front of the rail. To my surprise, the Selle SMP Blaster is at the opposite end. I need to slam the saddle far forward so their nose sit at 1.5cm behind bottom bracket. It's almost outside of their adjustable rail length just to put the dip curve at my correct position. Quick sit suggest that it is comfortable and allow good range of pelvic rotation without any perineum pressure. I see why people like this saddle. Unfortunately, i just need to return it because nose of the saddle being just 1.5cm behind bottom bracket is not (road bike) UCI legal nor does it looks good with how i need to mount it at the end of the rail.

my new kryptonite

I've used it several times

I've been an avid SMP saddle user for quite some time. I find them to be the most comfortable saddles I have used to date. In the SMP line up I can ride a couple of the saddles and depending on the bike is how I choose which one. Century rides or Trainer = SMP Stratos Fat Bike = Stratos Enduro bike = Drakon Road Bike for crits = Drakon Now just recently I have been riding the Blaster and really love it, I feel that will be my new saddle for the road bike. The reason I have the Drakon as I wanted a saddle that would allow me to slide up a bit when going on break aways or get over the cranks a little more prepping for that big sprint and the Stratos was not allowing me to do that like I wanted. Now that I have the Blaster I feel that will be the new road saddle and even take over for the mountain bike as well. For Reference Cat 2 Road 5'9" 32" inseam 34" waist 175lbs

My saddle for my XC bike

I've used it several times

This saddle is stylish, durable and light. I use it on my XC bike without any problem. I'll go for something a bit more padded for my Enduro bike though.
