SLR Team Edition Saddle - Men's

It's no secret that Selle Italia's sponsored team riders are a picky bunch. So, when their collective stamp finds its way onto the SLR Team Edition Saddle, it's time to pay attention. It starts with the SLR shape that we all know and love, and ends with a touch more padding for support over the long-haul.

Like the rest of the SLR family, the Team Edition takes the classic shape that's made the SLR so popular, and adds in a few team-requested features that make it worthy of its designation. To start, the nylon composite base incorporates a 30% blend of carbon fiber, which produces a shell that's supportive, yet still provides enough flex in order to keep you comfortable on long rides. The Lorica cover is hard wearing, and it sits atop a thin layer of padding. We say 'thin' in comparison to most other saddles, but in terms of the SLR family, it's actually quite substantial. Another team-inspired feature of this saddle are the friction-free side panels. As the name suggests, these panels reduce drag between your thighs and the saddle in order to minimize the risk of chafing.

The Team Edition uses Selle Italia's Carbonio Ovale 7x9.6mm carbon fiber seat rails in order to knock the weight down to around 140 grams. The carbon fiber rails are not only svelte, but they also add a great deal of strength. Additionally, the carbon, and its ovalized shaped rails, are far more proficient at dissipating vibration and jarring than either Vanox or titanium. And since this system works in conjunction with a carbon-reinforced nylon shell, chatter is significantly reduced, nearly eliminating numbness and discomfort.
