Description

SLR Kit Carbonio Flow Saddle

Selle Italia's SLR shape has become one of the popular saddle shapes in all of cycling. Its versatility supports riders of all shapes and sizes. With the anatomically-driven SLR Kit Carbonio Flow Saddle, Selle Italia takes this classic one step further.

This saddle features the same 131mm width and 275mm length as the SLR Tekno. This makes it an ideal match for those with average width sit bones. However, where the Kit Carbonio Flow begins to differ is both obvious and not-so-obvious. Starting with the 'Flow' designation, you'll notice that this saddle has a moderately sized cutout in order to relieve pressure on the perineal artery and adjacent soft tissue. As a result, that pressure is directed to your sit bones (ischial tuberosity), which are far more adept at supporting your body weight. Additionally, they're able to do so without causing numbness during long rides. This principle is further supported by the wide cut out, as it removes pressure from the pudendal nerve which can cause pain and numbness when continuous pressure is applied.

The Kit Carbonio also differs from the rest of the SLR line in its padding. It's a little less dense than the Team Edition, but thicker than the Tekno. However, it's nowhere near as dense as anything in the Flite or SLS families. And along with a modest amount of padding, the saddle has been wrapped with a hard-wearing and non-abrasive Lorica cover.

The SLR Kit Carbonio is supported by Selle Italia's carbon fiber rails. This feature assists in maintaining a low overall weight, but it also reduces and dissipates road vibration and trail chatter. And speaking of weight, at around 120 grams, this saddle approaches the 100% carbon fiber SLR Tekno. This is quite an undertaking considering the Carbonio features a 70/30% nylon/carbon fiber shell construction.

The Selle Italia SLR Kit Carbonio Flow Saddle is available in a 131x275mm size and in the colors White and Black.

Best of the best!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Very comfortable, super light, and a very low profile... What's not to like? The low profile allows the seat tube to be taller for extra vibration dampening. Makes my Look 695 even better in the comfort department.
An added bonus: The vent hole in the saddle allows easy access to my seatpost mounting bolt for accurate tightening.
I have spent several hours on the bike with this saddle, and it is a keeper! Good for the long distance rides I participate in on a regular basis.

Will this saddle work on a 2013 Pinarello Dogma seat post?

Yes, absolutely! Feel free to contact me if you would like to place an order.

150 miles in total comfort at 120g!!!!!!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

My first real saddle was the original Flite. I kept that saddle for years transferring it from MTB to Road as nothing from any other brand could compare to the comfort. I tried cut out saddles, I tried basically everything as my Flite as well past its expected lifespan. Then I got this one. Wow I can do a 150 mile ride and be totally comfortable while riding one of the lightest saddles on the market. It set a new bar of expectations, I only hope it will last as long as my Flite.

my favorite saddle

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

The Selle Italia family of saddles have always been my favorites. I had ridden the previous SLR model and was hesitant to go to a slightly different style since once you find a saddle that works with your butt you stick to it. I have been even happier with the SLR Kit Carbonio Flow and have been extremely comfortable on it in all aspects. It's super light which is great, but more importantly I have not experienced numbness or discomfort.

Is the saddle to firm to ride without chamois of some sort?

I would say always wear a short with chamois when riding, I guess it would depend you how long you are riding and how used to the saddle you are.
