Kronos Tekno Flow L Saddle

Almost immediately, the first thing you notice when putting some eyes on the Kronos Tekno Flow L Saddle is its unique looks. Designed as a saddle for the steep seat-tube-angle, and the more forward the better world of TT and Tri bikes, Selle Italia paid a lot of attention to bike positioning and built the Kronos with some key features to excel in the disciplines against the clock that require a fit with aggressive hip and back angles employed on an aero bike. It sports the modern snub nose look and measurements for that all-important support required for putting power directly into the pedals while remaining lightweight and keeping pressure away from sensitive regions. Selle Italia constructs the saddle with a carbon fiber shell and rail and it features a non-slip surface holding you firmly into position without having to apply griptape to your saddle as Tony Martin so famously did.

It would appear that a stiff saddle wouldn’t be of much comfort, but that comfort lies in its foundation and shape. A squishy saddle robs you of power so, Selle Italia uses a 100% carbon shell, which is split all the way to the nose for pressure relief. The shape was carefully designed to allow for unrestricted leg movement and reduced friction and the shell attaches to the 7mm x 9mm Carbo-Keramic solid rails creating a stable platform for laying down the power, while the carbon fiber provides the damping characteristics preventing premature fatigue by filtering road noise. Padding is bonded to the carbon shell and covered with its Fibra-Tek synthetic microfiber cover. Underneath the cutout, a flexible rubbery netting provides a cool airflow and allows any water to escape if you are transitioning from the swim.
