Flite Tekno Flow Saddle

The Flite Tekno Flow Saddle is an updated take on Selle Italia's classic silhouette. It incorporates 30% carbon fiber in its shell, Selle Italia's CarboKeramic rails, and some generous padding for a platform that cushions bumps and absorbs road noise without bouncing you down the road as you pedal. It's also got a comically low claimed weight of just 125g, 45g less than the next lightest model in the Flite line.

  • An updated take on Selle's classic saddles
  • 30% carbon in shell elevates stiffness, sheds weight
  • CarboKeramic rails keep things light and reliable
  • Generous padding absorbs jarring road chatter, cushions sit bones
  • Comically low weight scales in at just 125g

Fit for a King

Familiarity:
I've used it several times
Fit:
True to size

This saddle is labeled as being fit for a king and after several rides 100k+ I gotta say I agree. It’s the best saddle I’ve ever ridden. After more than a decade of riding mostly the Specialized Romin, with stints on the Toupe, Power, & Fizik Aliante, the Flite wins. Yes, it’s a firm saddle. If you’re noodling and not putting some pressure on the pedals it’s probably gonna be a bit too firm and uncomfortable. But that’s not how the saddle was designed to be used. If your position is balanced properly and weight is distributed between your bars, your pedals, and your saddle, the Flite’s platform is stellar. There are many possible positions, all of them efficient and comfortable. Like to be locked in climbing? No problem. Rolling terrain and constantly shifting your contact point? Easy and intuitive. Nose to the stem full gas riding the nose of the saddle? Go for it. I’ve ridden about 15hrs in the past week since I got the saddle and no sores yet, which is a testament to its design. Wearing Assos GT Mille, and Velocio’s ultralight standard bibs. Love it.

Not a fan

I find this saddle uncomfortable and unforgiving. I've had Fizik and Bontrager saddles with similar shape and profile and have been fine. Since I started using this saddle, my riding bones are always sore. If I can't adapt to it soon, I'm going to have to try something else. Another drawback of the saddle is that the sides are exposed carbon fiber, so you have to be very careful about resting the bike against anything. Very poor design.
