Talon Bike Rack

SeaSucker's best-selling roof rack for a reason, the Talon Bike Rack is a workhorse carrier that fits just about any vehicle thanks to the three vacuum cups (each rated up to 210-pound pull-strength) that secure themselves to your roof, trunk, or back glass in minutes, and without leaving a mark. This fork-mount style rack employs a rear wheel strap to secure your bike's back tire, while the 1/2-inch thick HDPE body bolsters strength and durability, ensuring a smooth ride to and from the trailhead. SeaSucker also included a spare mount in case one of yours goes missing, as well as a five-gram bottle of Lube Tube to keep your vacuum pump well maintained.
  • Best-selling bike roof rack in SeaSucker's lineup
  • Vacuum cup base safely attaches to your roof, trunk, or glass
  • Heavy duty HDPE fork-mount for 9mm dropouts
  • Holds one bicycle weighing up to 45 pounds

Works perfect for my MINI

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Well built and easy to use/store. The seasucker mount was a much cheaper and easier option for transporting my bike with my MINI. The crank strap is a nice addition, because it keeps the crank from rotating into the roof of the vehicle.

Works perfect for my MINI

Bought it for my MB Sprinter

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I saw this for sale when the Amgen Tour of California came through Laguna Seca. I don't usually make spur-of-the-moment purchases but they had it set up on a car at their booth and on sale so I went for it. My Roadtrek Agile (on a Mercedes Benz Sprinter van chassis) interior is not too roomy and this gets the bike (minus the front wheel) mounted vertically to the back of the camper (hanging off the window). It allows me to open the camper rear door while the bike is attached which my receiver mounted rack would not do. The bike is held rock solid instead of bouncing around a bit as it did with the hitch mounted rack. I do keep the rear camera on just to keep an eye on my bike when I travel but this thing works great! It will also work on my SUV which doesn't have a receiver for a hitch.
Bottom line - I love this setup. The CONs are that it holds one bike only but not an issue for me. Also when I stop for a meal on the road I park where I can keep an eye on my bike. This rack is easy to pop off the car IF you know what you're doing.

Better than expected

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I use it on a variety of cars, including a Porsche 911 with a sunroof. Sad to admit it, but I crashed into a garage door using it on another car. The carbon bike frame snapped in half, the garage door was bent, and the Seasucker and attached parts didn't move a millimeter. I left it attached for the entire winter in the unheated garage in Central PA and it was still holding strong in March. Mine is 4 years old and has no signs of wear. It takes about 30 seconds to set up so if security is an issue just take it off and stash it in the car while you ride.
