How to Measure:
Measure your dominant hand with a tape measure around the knuckles, not including the thumb. Please remember that if the gloves are too tight on your hands they may make your hands feel cold, so if in doubt go up a size.

Polar Vortex - No Contest

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: Runs small
  • Size Bought: Large

I bought these gloves after reading the great reviews. I normally take a medium glove, but I sometimes use liners and Sealskinz actually recommends going a size up if you aren’t sure. They say that more air space in the glove helps keep you warmer, so I bought the large. I have tried other name brand claw gloves and my hands got cold below 30 degrees. Today I went out for 25 miles with the temp at 12-14 degrees F. I started off with liners in the gloves and my hands were freezing. I knew something was wrong because on a previous ride at 19 degrees my hands were warm. On a hunch I removed the liners and my hands warmed up immediately and stayed warm throughout the ride. I do a lot of winter riding and tried many gloves. These are the absolute best and I don’t even have to use liners. Whoever designed these is brilliant. Don’t hesitate buying these gloves.

As advertised

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: Runs small
  • Size Bought: XL

These are road gloves, but I bought them for mtb. I just rode for an hour at 23 F and they were perfect. Top speed was only 14 mph, but they were completely wind proof. The lack of grip was noticeable on downhills, but so much better than riding with frozen fingers. Braking and shifting were fine. Glad I sized up!

Cold and wet hands

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: Runs small
  • Size Bought: Medium

My hands get painfully cold and numb when they get wet. I ride in nasty cold and wet conditions and need clothing that works as advertised. I rode a 38-mile ride in a 41°F cold rain. About 7-miles into the ride, I noticed that my hands were beginning to feel wet. The moisture from my handlebar tape was beginning to seep into the palm of these gloves and make its way into the glove's interior. As I continued riding, the rain kept seeping in eventually getting the glove's internal fabric saturated. Once that happened, the glove lost its ability to keep the rain out. Water kept soaking into the gloves. With no where for the water to drain, the water began to pool in each of the claws. This resulted in my fingertips being bathed in cold rainwater. By the time I got home the gloves had soaked up so much water that I could wring them out. If you are wanting a glove that is waterproof don't buy these as they failed me miserably.

So warm!

These gloves are great! Very warm; they were exactly as described and advertised. I highly recommend them.
