Dragon Eye Trail Glove

Everybody has someone in their ride crew that takes great pride in having an assortment of accessories to choose from depending on minute changes in weather and ride conditions. You're not that person. Rather than spend time analyzing the weather and debating between a range of different gear, you'd rather throw something on that you know will handle most rides and just get outside. Sealskinz Dragon Eye Trail Glove would probably be too versatile for your gear-crazy ride buddy, but not you.

Designed to be functional in a range of conditions, this single-layer glove offers ample dexterity and grip on the bars with a PU-laminated panel on the back of the hand to help the glove block water and wind. A suede thumb wipe allows you to clean off your lenses mid-ride without damaging them, while articulated knuckles, an improved thumb design, and silicone grippers on the fingers ensure the glove gives you a complete range of motion and grip while you're stretching to shift and brake.

Sealskinz omits padding in the Dragon Eye Trail to keep it versatile and lightweight, so you won't be hampered by bulky cushioning on warm days, and it adds conductive stitching on the index finger and thumb to give the glove full touchscreen-compatibility.

  • Lightweight, well-ventilated, mountain-bike gloves
  • Stretchy poly blend provides a superior fit and cool comfort
  • Pull tabs make for an easy on and off
  • Suede palm adds durability without bulking things up
  • Touchscreen-compatibility helps you stay connected on the move
  • Tricot wiper on the thumb provides versatility

How to Measure:
Measure your dominant hand with a tape measure around the knuckles, not including the thumb. Please remember that if the gloves are too tight on your hands they may make your hands feel cold, so if in doubt go up a size.

Pity The Poor Sealz

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

In the event you, as I, have girlish-figured hands, and, of a normal routine, would figure for a size Large, you may find the XLs dang-close to the - allowing for liner gloves - perfect fit. They do Velcro secure at wrist, so silk no-go; As planned, these Sealskinz cover my Giro Large fingerless gel gloves - which run some smaller than sized - with no Tom foolery fit falderal, whatsoever.

Somewhat surprisingly, blimey, I say the Lime green don't come across of a fashion-challenged, as some may have supposed.

Off hand [insert pun there], post-purchase, keep the gloves on to freely applaud your wise consumer cycling gear wherewithal, so as to soften the blows of the racket you'd be otherwise making with the gloves off.

Hope they wear well over time, and will update review if any troubles present in future.

It behooves one to pedal softly,

You Will Love This Glove

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: Runs small
  • Size Bought: Medium

These gloves work. My 7 mile commute is just enough to soak me thoroughly in the rain and when I peeled these gloves off, my hands were 100% dry. I was comfortable at 50 degree temperatures but they felt like they will breathe well enough to work in warmer rain too. I'd probably even ride these down around freezing if it's dry but if it's sleeting I'd opt for a warmer Sealskinz model.

Grip was quite good on the bars - the palm is a nice suede that holds onto grips. We'll see how durability is by they feel comparable to other proven mtb gloves. The velcro strap at the wrist was out of the way and secure.

My only complaint is fit - these do run a bit small. If you're between sizes, definitely size up. I have relatively small hands and usually take a medium (in Pearl Izumi, Bontrager, Craft, etc) and a medium in these was perfect in finger length and width across the palm but the wrist is tight and a struggle to slip into.

If you ride a bike in the rain at all, you will love this glove.

super versatile

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I mtb primarily in MN, and do a lot of night riding. these gloves are just what i needed to transition from summer to winter. very warm, breathable, and keep me dry. have 15 or so rides with them and they are holding up great. not too bulky but still warm enough to get into those sub freezing rides.
