Bombproof reliability.

After two years of extensive research and development, SDG Components introduces the Tellis Dropper Seatpost to eliminate the pitfalls in reliability and complex servicing inherent to many popular dropper posts on the market. That means you'll be able to ride your Tellis Dropper without worrying about constant servicing or bleeding requirements, even in the most extreme conditions. SDG did their homework in the lab by subjecting the Tellis Dropper Seatpost to a self-contained vat of muddy grit and moisture for months on end, finding it remained clean and fully functional without moisture and dirt ingress sacrificing its ability to drop and return upright in a smooth, speedy fashion.

SDG didn't stop there, deciding it's best to bring the Tellis into real-world conditions most riders will subject this dropper to over time. Their secret shed in Kamloops, British Columbia served as the perfect location for testing a dropper seatpost, seeing Kamloops sits in an area that's prone to short cold snaps down to negative four degrees Fahrenheit (that's negative 20 degrees Celsius for you Canadians). This is a huge benefit for riders extending their season through late-autumn and early-winter months where colder temperatures usually make for sluggish dropper post performance or ill-functioning when your dropper fails to return upright.

Delving into the construction of the Tellis, the robust 3D-forged head is sleekly appointed and stronger than bonded heads found on other dropper seatposts. Inside the post, you'll find a sealed hydraulic cartridge system that's both extremely reliable and easy to service or replace down the road. Also, SDG uses an intelligent keyway system that eliminates lateral head movement, plus a wiper seal that keeps muck, grit, and moisture from seeping inside and ruining your dropper's performance. It's completed with a scratch-resistant anodized finish and laser-etched graphics for dialing in your saddle height.

Please note, the thumb actuation lever mounts on the left side of your bars and works best with 1x drivetrains (it may get in the way of older 2x/3x systems with a left shifter mounted to your bars). For installation, there's a relatively painless attachment located at the base of the Tellis Dropper, so you can quickly connect, then route your cable through the frame. Routing is internal only, meaning it won't work with older frames lacking internal dropper routing.

There’s better droppers out there.

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

This dropper came stock on my Santa Cruz, but it never performed great. The rise is pretty smooth but the dropping motion is slow, almost delayed. I swapped out the remote and increased cable tension hoping for better results, but the drop is still lagging. A brand new dropper should function better than this.

SOLID AND RELIABLE DROPPER POST

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

I have the SDG Tellis on both my Santa Cruz FS bike and my steel hardtail. They both were easy to install and work great. They have been much more reliable than my precious hydraulic post, I have had zero issues with either Tellis that I ride.

This is a great dropper!

So this post came on my Santa Cruz 5010 and at first I was skeptical because I have always used a Fox Transfer. But after a year of riding (in Texas so mud really isn't ever an issue) this thing is definitely holding up its end of the bargain. The actuation is smooth and reliable. The lever feels great. And, unlike the Transfer, this post has no, and I mean absolutely no, head wobble. Just for reference, I'm a lighter rider at 160lbs but I still put my bike (and this post) through its paces. I like it better than the Fox and although I've never ridden one, I've just read that Reverbs aren't very reliable. Take that as you will. Bottom Line: This is great post.

DONT BUY THIS POST

Familiarity:

The only thing worse than the quality of this post is the way I was treated by the company. This post came on my new Santa Cruz Tallboy. Everything else about this bike is awesome. This seatpost is not. First the lever failed and I replaced it with a Loam lever (much better upgrade). Within 3 months of owning the sdg the whole post failed and would not go up. The company refused to do anything about it despite an advertised 2 year warranty. They made me pay to ship it to them. Made me pay for the part that failed and made me pay to have it sent back. With all the shipping and replacement parts I spent enough to buy a quality post from a well know company. Skip the headache and just buy a better post

Not bad but ...not great either.

I purchased this for a temporary replacement for my Fox transfer post while out for service. I performed adequately but was not as smooth and responsive as the Fox. I put about 950 miles of trail riding on it working it pretty hard . It seemed I need to give it a bit if a butt bounce to drop it where the Fox drops smoothly.

Easy to install, easy to use!

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

I purchased 2 and installed one on my wife and I's bikes. These have been fantastic dropper posts that made our old rigid posts feel so horrible and like we were riding in a whole new world. I could not recommend this enough. Its sturdy, had no issues going up or down, and have been working for the 2 months they have been installed with no issues.
