- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
Swapped to this saddle from a much-loved WTB Pure V. I wanted to give something new a try and was drawn to the aesthetics of this Dakine pattern. After about 10 rides on it, I have still been very happy. It is mounted on my Juliana Joplin. I have ridden it on long rides paired with a chamois and on short rides with no chamois. No discomfort either way. The cut-out has relieved some pressure while climbing, but the flatter profile still allows a lot of movement fore/aft depending on the terrain. Deducted a star because after 3 rides, the rails started to creak like crazy. I pulled it off the post, cleaned the fine Utah dirt out of all the off it, applied carbon paste to the rails, and reattached. It has been quiet since! This may not be a common problem with this saddle, but I had not experienced it with my WTB saddle. Just something to keep in mind.
