Vivo Plus Helmet

If you're trying to choose between Scott's top-tier enduro helmet offerings, we'd say it's worth making the jump to one of the models equipped with new MIPS technology. The Vivo Plus Helmet doesn't come with as much extended coverage as its pricier sibling, the Stego, but it'll put a smaller dent in your wallet and it weighs a few grams less. Despite the lower price, it still comes with the added reassurance of MIPS, or Multi Directional Impact Protection System. This relatively new Swedish technology is added to the helmet in the form of an extremely thin inner liner, which rotates slightly upon impact to absorb the brain-damaging rotational energy created in certain crashes.

Aside from MIPS, you'll also gain protection from the helmet's lightweight, In-Mold polycarbonate shell, which is fused to an inner layer of EPS foam to act as a barrier against roots, rocks, and any other manner of trail obstacles your head might come in contact with during a crash or reckless descent. Scott also includes its adaptable MRAS2 fit system, allowing you to fine-tune the fit of the helmet with the simple twist of a dial before or during a ride. Added features like extensive venting and an adjustable visor make sure the helmet keeps you comfortable throughout a wide range of riding conditions.

  • Safety meets style in this trail-ready enduro helmet
  • In-mold shell is fused to EPS foam layer for added protection
  • MIPS technology rotates to reduce force of impact
  • MRAS2 fit system dials in an exact fit in seconds
  • Substantial ventilation keeps your head cool on warm days
  • Adjustable visor helps you adapt to the day's conditions

Great Helmet

I've put it through the wringer
True to size

I love this helmet, it's lightweight, well-ventilated, looks great, doesn't move around while riding, fits with all types of sunglasses, great padding, straps are very adjustable, and it fits my head extremely well with the adjustable boa system (I usually have problems with helmets tilting back on my head, not a problem with this one). A go-pro mount fits perfectly on the center of the helmet, I use this for helmet lights. It doesn't manage sweat as well as some other helmets, but riding through hot/humid PA weather, it hasn't bothered me at all. Just not the best in that category. Not much else to say, helmets are personal preference but this is my favorite helmet I own.

How have users experiences been with strap length? Long enough to fit a beanie underneath. I loved my previous Scott road helmet but the straps length wasn't long enough. I need a new mtb helmet Thanks

Awesome helmet

I love my Scott Vivo Plus Helmet. From the moment I tried it on the fit was perfect! I didn't even have to play with any of the adjustments that this helmet has for a more custom fit. I was previously wearing another helmet from a popular brand and I was never able to get it to fit just right. With the Scott Vivo Plus, I don't even realize I have it on! It's light and cool with all the ventilation holes in it. This is my second Scott Vivo Plus helmet in recent months. I had stopped my bike using my head and the Scott Vivo Plus Helmet worked as promised, and as such, I needed another helmet. It was a no brainer (pun intended) on which helmet I was gonna buy.

From Smith to Scott...

I've used it several times

180 lbs one helmet. I love my Smith helmet for snow sports, but this Scott is the bomb on two wheels...going downhill! Love the ventilation and the superior dial-in fit, super comfortable. This is also my first MIPS and the added protection gives me a touch more confidence while bombing down a line. Highly recommend, thumbs up!

Comfort is paramount!

I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

No!!! I'm not talking about my late 80's Scwhinn Paramount here, though that was a very comfortable and lively riding machine. I'm talking about the Scott Vivo Plus helmet. I don't know if I have an oddly shaped head or what, but historically I have struggled to find a helmet that is comfortable enough that I don't notice it on my head after a couple hours into a ride. My first time wearing this helmet in the field just so happened to be last night. After 3 hours of being on the bike I was marveling at just how comfortable the helmet was as we were wrapping up our ride. The thing is pretty darn light weight as well! That probably aided in the helmet's overall comfort and "barely there" feel. I always stress to anyone to always wear their helmets but to refrain from ever using them intentionally or unintentionally. I have yet to "use" this helmet in my 1 ride that I've worn it on so I cannot attest to it's impact protection or the effectiveness of it's MIPS feature. If the comfort of this helmet and how it cradles my dome is any indicator of how it will work in a crash it should do the trick just fine. Overall I'm pretty excited to have found myself in this helmet. My riding mates complimented me on the low profile of the helmet and how good the helmet looked. Probably due to it being a nice distraction from my face. Either way this helmet strikes a wonderful balance between style, comfort and performance.

The ventilation is good and it fits good. The visor is short and not adjustable and I had a ear adjustment buckle brake. Got a replacement part but for the price I was expecting a lot more from it.

Serious sweat draining issue

True to size

This is a great helmet. Quality build, nice fit, good styling...But, the sweat pours down into your eyes. Before I purchased this helmet I looked at several reviews and everyone mentioned this as a problem. But like everything else I thought this would not be an issue for me. Man, was I wrong. Forget wearing your glasses because within 15 minutes of the ride they are covered with streaks of sweat and dirt. And the entire ride after the water pours down into your eyes. I added a different pad on the edge of the helmet where it meets the forehead..that just filled up with sweat and poured down after. I also tried wearing different beanie caps, but again no luck. I have owned many, many helmets over the course of 20 years riding and never have I had such bad draining issue. As much as I like this helmet it is simply unusable.

Comfort and Style

This helmet is well ventilated, light, and the adjustment dial works perfectly to get the right fit and it looks great too! Luckily I haven't crashed with it yet so I can't speak to the durability of it after a hit.
