Why We Like The MTB Elite Boa Cycling Shoe

If you're looking for an all-mountain shoe that is comfortable with a hint of racing style, the MTB Elite Boa Cycling Shoe has you covered. We know Scott for their efforts to drive us to the mountains, and that motto holds true with their cycling products as well as their ski and snow gear. It's a comfortable option that offers a relaxed fit and the BOA Fit System IP-1 for easy and secure adjustment. Simply turn the dial and tighten or loosen the crisscrossing light cables. The ErgoLogic insole features arch support and a metatarsal button, and Scott's adaptive fit pattern upper offers welded armor protection for durability over time. With a minimal racing-style tread, the MTB Elite Boa Cycling Shoe's sole features a design constructed with Sticki rubber that's grippy enough to take on everything from loose soil to hardpack surfaces and rocks.

I am 58 YOA and have been riding MTBs since 1985. In my youth I rode trails in WV, VA, MD, TN, now in retirement I ride the tough trails of FL. I have had these shoes for 2 wks, and I am very impressed. Extremely comfortable and love the BOA system. Easy clipless setup plenty of sole lug clearance. Have not had problems with loosening of shoe. I ride 2 hrs 3x a week on technical trails with huge roots, rocks, sugar sand, mud bogs. I have banged them against huge roots and loose rocks without a problem. Have not noticed any flex when riding. No pressure around the ankle. I have had problems with heel slippage in the past but not these. In non-bike shoes I wear 10 to 11.5 US depending on brand. I have always worn a US 11 in MTB shoes and these are a size 11. My foot width is med. Delivered in 2 days.

Comfortable, but gum sole does not last

I've put it through the wringer

I bought these for bikepacking. They are super comfortable for riding and also hike-a-bike. They dry fairly quickly when they get wet. But the boa dial on does not hold. I find myself retightening it regularly. The biggest issue is the gum sole. It is beyond worthless. After less than 10 days of bikepacking, the sole was in shreds. Big chunks were coming off. If Scott were to redo these shoes using a more durable sole, I might buy again. But as they stand I will not.

I was looking for a xc mtb shoe that was comfortable but stiff enough for riding hard. I don’t race, but I enjoy hard xc riding. The gear head who assisted me recommended this shoe. Thanks! These were exactly what I was looking for. They are super comfortable and have good flex off the bike for walking around, but they are stiff enough for great power transfer. The BOA system and strap keep work very well. There is no play when climbing or sprinting hard, yet without creating pressure points on the tops of my feet. The sole’s sticki rubber gives great traction on the sand cover boulders at my local trail. First impression is great! If they holdup well, it is a great shoe I would highly recommend.
