Womens Scott Comp Boa MTB shoe

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Believe true to size on length, seemed tight on 5th toe. Did read and material is Urethane, so a shoe stretcher was applied and I sat the shoes on the dashboard of the car on a 90 degree day in sun for several hours, tightened the stretcher, another couple hours. Seems to have done the trick. Maybe extra 1.5mm across toe, no affect to heal. Left toe velcro very loose and the boa still tightens the top of shoe fine. I did use my personal shimano footbeds over the factory. These aren't very stiff, which I desired. I wanted to be able to walk in grocery stores, or hike sidewalks, etc... I removed the plastic spikes and had my husband fill with a simple button plastic from hardware store. They are cute, I like them, the blue is nice and holds color well. Wet cloth cleans them. Cleats adjusted as expected and I have no issues. Just might note the tightness if you have "wider", I'd argue normal width feet. For reference, I wear Dalbello Kyra ski boots of appropriate length and the width is fine, and those are tight fitting by design also.

Very comfortable and functional shoe

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

There are a lot of good mountain bike shoes out there, but the trick is finding the one that fits your foot the best. After trying like 10 different shoes, this one was the winner in terms of comfort, durability, and price. This shoe is secure on my heel and midfoot, which is important for the inevitable hike a bike. Most importantly, the toes box has plenty of room both horizontally and vertically to accommodate foot swelling. My previous shoes did not have enough vertical space and when my feet would swell slightly several hours into a ride, they felt squished and uncomfortable. These are comfortable all day! The loops that the boa cord go through are reinforced with plastic and seem more durable than other similar shoes that did not have that plastic reinforcement. The boa seems to be part of most mountain bike shoes now and it really is the best. Perfect custom fit every time whether you need them snug or loose.

Finally, a cycling shoe I love!

I love these shoes! Comfortable right out of the box -- If my feet hurt in cycling shoes before I even get on the bike, it's not a good thing! This was the fourth pair of cycling shoes I tried in recent weeks and these are the winners! Although I will be using them for road biking, and they are technically MTB shoes, they are perfect -- still stiff enough for good pedal power -- not clunky or heavy, good grip on surfaces, stylish looks, even arch support -- well worth the price!
