It's addicting.

With a design that's right at home on tough XC courses and demanding Enduro courses alike, it's no wonder why the Schwalbe Nobby Nic Addix 27.5 Plus Tire is a long-time favorite among trail riders who like to go fast. The innovative Addix Speed compound serves up exceptionally reliable performance over a variety of surfaces, and the widely-spaced tall knob pattern gives you beastly grip while maintaining low rolling-resistance over rowdy, unpredictable trails. Snakeskin offers durability and protection, and features an aggressive tread pattern to provide you with better traction loose and fast terrain.

  • Fast-rolling trail tire ready to race on Enduro and XC courses
  • Addix Speed compound is as durable as it is stable

I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I purchased size 27.5 x 2.8 to replace my Maxxis Rekon+ 27.5 x 2.8. The weight listed for the tires is wrong. One tire weight was 1002g and the other was 1024g. The Maxxis rekons were 870g, so i just added a 1/2 pound to my bike. They are also really small. On the same rim and at the same air pressue as the Maxxis, they are about 4mm shorter is tire height and 2mm in width. The width is not a big issue, but dropping my bottom bracket by 4mm is. The only plus for the Shwalbe is the side walls are thicker, by about 1mm.

Great tires for a plus bike

I've put it through the wringer

My wife has ridden these tires on her plus bike for a couple years and is a big fan of them. The Nobby Nic is sort of the best of all the worlds with traction balanced against rolling ability. I will say that Schwalbe tires have never really held up against the test of time for me but my wife is quite a bit lighter than I and she made them work for 2 seasons riding ~3x per week.
