I put the G Ones on my gravel bike 3 years ago. I put well over 1000 miles of gravel racing and some pavement on them before I decided the rear tire was getting too bald for long hauls and racing. It was not quite a slick in the center, but close. Tires work well in all conditions I have put them through. I purchased 4 more, two for me and two for my little racer. Again, set-up was as easy as I remember. Tires went on his WTB rims and on my carbon rims without a fight and all held air with no sealant. I added sealant and we are off and racing again! Compared to other brands of tires, these seem to be the easiest to set-up and life if superb.

Nearly impossible to mount

Tires roll well and seem mostly durable, but are nearly impossible to mount. Have two sets used on DT Swiss r24 and Enve g23....both with enormous mounting issues (initial setup took multiple hours, needed three hands, came away bruised and battered). Because of this I failed to fix a flat on a ride (was using tubes) with the DT Swiss wheels and had to call for a ride. I can’t recommend these tires based on my experience. Once mounted, setting up tubeless on the Enve wheels was average in terms of hassle. 35c tires measure just under 37 on 23m internal rims; 38c tires measure just under 40 on 23m internal rims. For moderate gravel rides and rides that are 60/40 road/gravel, I plan to use Panaracer’s new GK SS....which mounted with ease, set up tubeless with no pain, and measure slightly wide than Schwalbes.

Fast but at a cost.

The gravel bike that I purchase was spec'd with these G-Ones and I fell in love instantly. I've been running them ever since I got the bike and it's hard for me to think about switching to something else. They are super fast and grippy on pavement yet can handle the chunky type of gravel. Just be careful when it gets really chunky. I got one hole in the center of the rear tire that wouldn't seal up with Stans. I had to pull out the plug kit in order to keep on riding. The rear also wore out fairly quickly because of the soft compound. That is something I am willing to live with for the road/gravel performance.

Durability questionable

With a little under a 100 miles on the tires I just raced these in the Belgian Waffle Ride. Experienced not one but two punctures. Thank goodness for Stan's No Tubes sealant. It plugged the holes and got me through the ride.

Speedy Grip

I only have about 80 miles on these but thought I would toss my thoughts out there. Speedy. Very Speedy. I am impressed with how quickly and efficiently these roll. I am also impressed with how smooth they roll, the casing seemed almost a little too supple compared to the tires these replaced but the ride is amazing and any concerns I had about durability went away when I foolishly dropped the pressure from about 40psi for the road section down to what turned out to be 25-28 psi for a really nasty dirt road climb and descent. way less pressure than I should have been running and I was going far too fast for the conditions (embedded rock / washboard road) but these held up like a champ. Speed comes with a slight tradeoff, while grip on super hard pack dirt is magnificent. The wheel starts to spin as things loosen up. Not a deal breaker, but something to think about, and while thinking about that, I would gather these would be awful in the mud. Thankfully I don't encounter much if any mud here in Utah. 5 stars, I would buy these all over again.

Fast & Grippy

I've put in a few rides on these tires so far. Coming from a knobbier, wider gravel tires these are blazing fast! Not only are they fast, they are a super sticky compound. Most of my miles have been pavement so far but they have been picking up a fair bit of debris and flinging it at me so they should hook up nicely on dirt. I look forward to testing the durability as I've heard mixed reports. I have yet to measure these but they look about 38mm wide on a narrowish rim, the sidewalls say 700x40 so on wider rim I'd expect them to come in closer to that.

Fast Gravel

I bought the G-Ones looking for a fast rolling gravel tire and these absolutely deliver. They roll very fast on pavement and give me all the grip and confidence I need on gravel, except for a few extreme situations. Over the last two years I have also run the Clement MSO and the Kenda Flint Ridge, all in 35c (or 36C for the MSO). (It's just too tempting not to experiment with gravel tires. The MSO was my previous favorite and is a bit grippier than the G-One. The Flintridge, even in 35c is definitely the most confidence inspiring but I hated riding them on pavement. I'd be curious to do a side-by-side with the MSO and the G-One, but nothing about the G-One has left me wanting to re-mount the MSO. One thing I really like about the G-One is their speed and versatility. There is nothing more frustrating than going out for a group "gravel" ride and having a few guys in the group on road bikes hammer everyone on the unavoidable pavement sections of the ride. The only area in which the G-Ones give anything up is when you are hauling on a downhill and need to slow down quickly. Due to the limited tread profile they tend to lock up and skid. Not a huge deal, you just have to keep it in mind when going over 35mph. Also, I've had a few moments during gravel races on really steep stuff (I'm in VT) when I wish I could get a little more grip when really trying to put down the power. That said, I am stretching for negatives here. Tire choice is all about trade-offs and for me the trade-offs of running G-Ones are just fine by me Finally, the G-Ones were absolutely the easiest tire to set up tubeless I have every mounted. Let's face it, usually something goes wrong or needs a little extra attention when you are mounting a tubeless set-up. Not the G-Ones. It was literally too easy - took maybe 15 minutes to swap out my old tires and have these up and running! Very pleased with these tires.

Gravel Grinding

The perfect gravel tire. The pattern if genius. It rips on the gravel. So much traction but it rolls so fast!! This trie is great. It is more of a race tire, so you won't get a lot of miles out of it, but if you have a race coming up, then throw these things on there. You will crush it!
