I've been using a trainer from a different manufacturer. It was a rear wheel smart trainer. I had it for 6 years. It recently stopped working. It was out of warranty, so I decided to sell it and buy another one. I chose the Saris H3 Trainer because of some of the reviews that I read. Suffice it to say, all the reviews were spot on. The first thing I noticed was that it is heavy. I would say about 50 pounds, plus or minus. Be careful when moving it around. It has a built-in handle, so that makes it easier. The positive side to that is that with the well-placed legs, it is very stable. It folds into a compact form and requires minimal space. As others mentioned, it is very quiet. You hear the meshing of the gears on your bike. Compared to my other trainer, it's like night and day. I tried it with Zwift and Rouvy. Pairing with those apps is a no-brainer. The apps picked up the signal immediately after powering up the trainer. In terms of wattage accuracy, I'd say it's more accurate than my previous trainer. I have a Stages left crank arm power meter. I compared the metrics between the two and they were within 10 watts most of the time. The fly wheel allows from a realistic feel in the sense that it replicates the momentum you get while riding outdoor. It does not provide assistance while descending. All-in-all, I am very happy with this trainer and would recommend it to anyone.

Close to riding on the road
After a cycling accident I purchased this trainer so I can safely ride indoors. However, nothing beats riding outdoors, but this direct drive smart trainer is the next best thing. The resistance changes as the terrain changes creating a realistic experience. The road feel is very good because the flywheel is heavy, and the Saris H3 is very stable to ride. I am using the Rouvy app which allows you to ride on real roads with real scenery. This also adds to the realistic feel. I have been using the Saris H3 for several weeks with no problems.
