Super-Value & Super-Tight Arms
- Familiarity:
- I returned this product before using it
This is a killer price for a beautifully-designed aero race-fit jersey using a high-end mix of materials. It also has, to my eyes, a more-elegant style than what you typically get from a logo-heavy Castelli or other more well-known brands (without it being a boring monochrome) . However I normally prefer a slightly relaxed fit which (as other reviewers have noted) is not what this jersey is about. I?m a skinny 125lbs. with a 35? chest & 29? waist and the fit of a sz. Small (which, according to Santini?s size chart is already one size up for me) is about what I should?ve expected from a major Italian supplier of Pro-level apparel. It?s snug around the chest/waist but the material didn?t feel as constraining (or revealing) as most other race-tight jerseys I?ve tried on in the past. With the long raw-cut aero sleeves, mesh sides/back, elegant striped design around the chest/arms, and a zippered security pocket I was ready to give up my preference for a slightly-relaxed fit?that is until it felt like I had Boa constrictors around my biceps (and I have pencil thin arms)! I sure wish Santini had shaped the sleeves to better fit my tiny biceps (or used a stretchier material or different design). I?d would?ve liked to size up but this jersey was already 1-2 inches longer than I like so a Medium would?ve been too long. Oh well!

Skinsuit

Great fabric, quality zipper, colors are vibrant. I have many Italian manufactured jerseys and am familiar with the often tight fit. This one comes with a tag saying 'slim fit', and they are not joking. Even in a 2XL (one size above my usual), the arms sit as tight as a wetsuit, and the rest of the jersey fits like a time trial suit. Alas, unless I am able to channel a new-found Basque climber physique, this is going to be returned.

Not bad
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
- Size Bought:
- Large

First off, the fit here is like Castelli. If you think you wear a medium than buy a large. Unless you're one of those guys who likes ultra tight. I'm 5'9" 165 with a 39 chest. A medium is really tight. I own A LOT of castelli gear so I'm not just whining about the fit. The colors shown may be a little off from what's pictured. The Nero is actually pink and not red. The silver bullet, the main color is not white with blue stripes. It's more of a really light gray with blue stripes. Part of this may just be the display I'm using and the colors aren't mapping over for me properly? Overall the fit seems nice and the materials seem nice. I'll add to the review later when I can put some miles in warm weather on some of the mountain passes.
