Redux Bib Short

Sitting atop Santini's range of Italian-crafted bib shorts, the Men's Redux Bib Short satisfies cyclists seeking unbelievable versatility for virtually any ride or race, plus premium fabrics constructed with minimized seams to eliminate irritation. It's constructed from a mixture of nylon and elastane, allowing you to remain supported throughout your ride without succumbing to irritation or being restricted from key cycling movements. Santini's ergonomically shaped C3 chamois soaks up fatiguing road vibration as you rack up the miles, thanks to its variable thickness foam with perforations throughout to promote quick-drying comfort.

The legs are made of supportive Thunderbike fabric that acts to stabilize key muscle groups as you're pushing yourself at a rapid cadence down the road. Santini does not use elastic along the bottom cuffs, instead employing a dotted silicone underside along the side bands that faithfully remains in place without pinching sensitive skin or bunching up. The upper bibs stabilize the short in place with seamless elastic braces constructed in a manner to lie flat against your skin, combined with a breathable mesh backside to prevent you from overheating and soaking in perspiration.

  • Premium bib shorts satisfy the most discerning cyclists
  • Supportive, stretchy fabric of nylon and elastane
  • C3 ergonomic chamois absorbs fatiguing road vibration

Best chamois ever ridden

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: Large

I've endured a very large number of bibs from a half dozen US and Italian brands, but the chamois on these Santini bibs definitely takes the crown. The longitudinal gap is larger and of a better shape than other chamys, mimicking and complementing the gap you'll find on all ergonomic saddles. In plain English? If the saddle is doing its job to prevent pressure where you don't want or need it, this chamy doesn't stand in the saddle’s way. On the contrary, it suspends you above the saddle firmly, and with extra space where you need it. It's the only bibs that – at the end of a 150 mile ride – have left me without the slightest hint of pain or discomfort. The fabric used for the chamy is also fine density, and it doesn't seem to rub as harshly as, say, the sandpaper-like-stuff you find elsewhere.
You can find this chamois on other Santini bibs and I'm sure I'll try them eventually. Are the bibs themselves perfect? After many many rides and washes, the Santini lettering started to peel off. Italians don't use dryers and I'm sure they didn't test what would happen to those letters during a dryer cycle. I don't mind the bibs without the faint black-on-black rubber lettering, so this didn't bother me much.

How long is the inseam on the bibs you bought? I'm slightly taller than you and prefer a longer inseam that is longer than mid-thigh.
